RE: Great company26 Feb 2026 19:49
@fleccy I didn't say that RR would return 1000% over the next 3 years, nor would I make such an assertion. That would be hubris in the extreme.
Your point re: the dividend comparison is logical and cogently put. I haven't checked the maths, but I'm sure you have. It seems you place more value on income than growth, which if that's the case, I understand.
My point is simply that I believe RR is better placed to deliver higher total returns over the medium to long term than BT or BP.
In terms of RR being priced for perfection. That is very much a matter of opinion. Even the brokers & banks can't reach a consensus on where they see fair value for the SP. Although, as you will no doubt have seen, recent upgrades by the institutions are, north, in some cases, significantly, of where the SP is today.
If you've read my previous comments on why I'm invested in RR and continue to be, you'll hopefully understand my position.
I've been investing for over 40 years and for nearly half of that time I advised clients on how to invest their money for capital growth, income, capital growth & income for specific aims and obviously their retirement.
I've seen trends come and go, stock markets crash, currencies devalued, wars, oil crises, the dot com bubble burst, governments collapse and listened to people shout "The sky is falling, the sky is falling". In all those cases it didn't, and markets recovered.
In all that time, I cannot think of a company with the longevity and pedigree that RR has, that is as well placed to deliver what much of the world needs, in terms of clean energy, power generation, civil & military aviation and defence.
