In terms of names, there are two ai etf funds listed in GBP. Don't have time to lookup and post right now. Keep in mind, if this turns into an investing frenzy you need stuff that literally has AI in the name. C3AI in the USA already started mooning. Google search could be destroyed by this, yet they have Deep Mind. Microsoft just incorporated chat gpt in bing yesterday I believe and have it available in teams to summarise spoken meetings in text. I think Microsoft wins this actually but it's very early.
The dynamic here is -> people get exposed to chat gpt and it blows minds -> they then go and buy stocks related -> momentum and meme trades take hold (bubble) -> it dumps like all bubbles do
There are so many use cases I can't do it justice. Look at this https://glass.health/ai. It gives similar info to a doctor (obviously it isn't a replacement)
I think this stuff will augment people's jobs rather than replace for the time being. Some it will outright replace.
Keith, in my opinion, this is the biggest tech shift since the inception of the internet and before that the creation of the pc. AI is the theme of the 2020s. If you think gpt 3 is impressive, what does 4 look like?
Gpt 1 - 117m parameters
Gpt 2 - 1.5b parameters
Gpt 3 - 175b parameters <- YOU ARE HERE
Gpt 4 - ???
Gpt 5 - ???
Gpt 6 - ??etc
(Also, Guercif mou-2 - 800b+ mcf?)
This could be used for mining exploration, there is no reason an AI model couldn't be used to interpret log dat / geo imaging / satellite images. It may already be happening.
Markets: this has the potential to be another dot com bubble.
Baidu release theirs soon. Google releases theirs soon. The completion will be hot in this front and it will all move very quickly
This too will pass, buybacks will win based on volume in Buybacks Vs Warrants. Eventually warrants and debt will be clear led out. And we can benefit from this year's capex for years to come.
Looking forward to the debt being repaid, this thing is a cash machine. We just need oil to stay near current levels, any move higher would be great but isn't needed.
Btw, AI is one of the themes I'm looking at right now for 2023. It's hard not to be blown away by what's happening right now in that space. Will share with the board at some point in a very succinct summary if people want it. More than 10 likes and I will dump something on it at some point. Conscious this is a prd board and we have a lot of interesting things coming, just wanted to offer, I have taken so much info from here.
Chatgpt wrote this poem for you:
Predator Oil & Gas, a name so grand,
A public limited company in Jersey's land,
Listed on the LSE's main market place,
With ticker PRD and ISIN to trace.
Three subsidiaries, all wholly-owned,
Predator Trinidad, Gas Ventures, and Oil alone,
Our portfolio encompasses the sea and shore,
Morocco, Ireland, and Trinidad, ever more.
From upstream to development, our focus is clear,
EOR opportunities, with carbon dioxide the peer,
Exploration and appraisal of gas assets galore,
Onshore Morocco, offshore Ireland, Trinidad's shore.
With experience in the world, our board and team,
Creating, developing, executing, it would seem,
Oil and gas projects, a diversified goal,
Predator Oil & Gas, with a vision so bold
"I originally believed that my VERY WELL PUBLICISED …and VERY heavily researched…
bulk purchase of shares in PRD (at 1.5p) would eclipse any of my other E&P deals
But I am now of the view that my PRD purchase will eclipse ALL my other E&P deals…"
HE'S GOING TO DO IT AGAIN. WHAT A MANIAC
Androcles good point. Imagine ruining that relationship and cutting yourself out of all future business if things go well. Versus making a strategic investment in getting the drill done and being first in line for what comes next.
"The Star Valley rig will remain in place over the well head."
I assume that the crew would remain nearby until a decision is made to either continue drilling or take down the rig. I don't they would leave with the rig assembled.
