The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Hey Nige, I haven't looked deeply into those organisations. This is interesting information, thanks. Search Island Oil had nothing coming up in Google but Fastnet Oil and Gas had some old presentations. I do not think PRD is a lifestyle company for management or I wouldn't have a position. My main issue reading old RNSs is projections and targets clearly not being met with hindsight. This is why I only took my main position during the drill. If there are complications with the drill I will be disappointed but I can see it is a possibility and will hold for the result. Nigel what do you think the odds are here? In my gut, I see this as close to a coin flip with extremely high upside on heads.
Close your eyes and imagine what the China headlines will be in 6 months. Covid will be over for them. I see their markets returning to all time highs on sentiment. Not saying this makes sense or should happen, but I think it does. Keep in mind the counter argument here is global recession. Predator ticks a lot of my boxes, I like events and catalysts. I especially like hearing bear cases on my positons, this is why I encourage Nigel to challenge us and value his input
Sienna, I'm a degenerate gambler and my only skill is luck. Traded boohoo for big gains, William hill, evraz, polymetal horizonte, Macau casinos etc. Pantheon wasn't great but had only small position. Right now I like china reopening (HK stocks) and oilers with low pe. To be realistic here none of us know what is going to happen and this is speculation. I just like the odds to rewards for Predator, they look very skewed to the upside and I needed to play.
Nigel was the only one willing to talk about the cash position. I am not trying to deride the good efforts of anyone on this board, but we all need to apply our own reason to the evidence at the end of the day. Skepticism is not a bad thing and experts are not omniscient
