RE: Quob update9 Nov 2015 08:41
hi K3
i suppose in my book, 'the last placing price' seems
quite a long way different from the 'open market' price.
although obviously, on a share suspended now for
many weeks, moot point what open market price is, lol.
(i think quob did say that the £2.5m is made up of
£1.6m cash plus Dan shares to make up the balance?)
since there are zero details available about the investment
and its financials, no real way to make sensible judgement
about what it is really worth, and whether it will be good for
quob or not. ... though of course this is Dan bb, so main issue
i'd suggest for this bb is simply what the possible implications
will be for Dan of RT having sold off 1/3 of his stake. - probably
that will depend on whether the market believes that RT will
soon buy back up to /close to his original level, and whether or
not the new holder of that Dan share chunk will hold or sell.
if RT does not quickly buy back, then any lingering premium
still in share price associated with his stake-building would
presumably dissipate. so yes, as you say, a waiting game.
as an RT sceptic, i remember that his 'intentions' about buying
shares can be very different indeed from his actions. but of
course in a quantum universe presumably even leopards could
manage to change their spots! my own suspicion about his xyz
company deal is that it includes the two respective aims of
(a) cashing in some of his Dan chips, (b) inflating the balance
sheet of quob, to make it look like a company with a high growth
rather, high profitability, etc. etc., -- regardless of actual cash and
regardless of the real quality of the underlying assets. that would
fit his modus operandi of trying to grow companies v. rapidly through
interestingly ambitious accounting + judicious smoke and mirrors.
but unless you are a quob holder (- i guess you are not?), that
should not be very relevant to Dan's own future. meanwhile,
at a very plain vanilla level, market needs to hear about the
fundraising by Dan, irrespective of RT / quob machinations.
i hope it comes good for you here. gl.
