Not gloating, doug, but for sure my views about regulatory recourse in relation to cloudtag have not changed since last year. — imv not a snowball’s chance in hell of you getting your money back via regulators etc … that ship sailed long, long ago, after the UK incarnation of cloudtag dissolved.

… some other countries, US an obvious example, have pretty positive investment regs *better* in many respects than UK, but places like cayman or st vincent, LOL!

Doug, if you invest money abroad, you become exposed to risks relating to the relevant foreign country, ranging from regulatory risk & legal loopholes one would not expect in the UK, right through to corruption, war, nationalisation, political turmoil, etc etc.

Chillax, doug, it ain’t that complicated —> if you want the protections of UK law and UK regulation, by and large you should stick to investing in UK companies.

in particular, people often seem to fail to understand that if they buy an unregulated overseas product from a UK regulated entity, their investment is not protected —- i.e. regulated companies may still choose to sell some products that *aren’t* regulated, even tho’ the vendor is.

no, doug, not all — i think most cloudtag pis realised a long time ago that their money had been sp***ed up a wall by amit and was never coming back. it’s only a tiny, very stupid/very gullible minority now still believe they will get a payout.

some of the pis who got sucked up in the initial ramp acted like sheep, egged on by greasy, aberdeen, mrtopshop etc, but then came to their senses again, although sadly for many that came way too late, i.e. after the delist.

Dougb189, re your 06:36; — you remember incorrectly, as i have not said that i am here only to learn from others. i have said that i am here for mainly for entertainment and for interest, and because occasionally there is some learning to be had. (i think pretty much all share chat boards should be viewed primarily as entertainment really.)

you are also misunderstanding the nature of the learning to be had. it is not from the likes of you, doug. think of it as learning about sheep-herding; the primary interest is to study the methods of the shepherd himself, and his sheepdogs, although of course the way the sheep react to the different tactics is also good food for thought — but one does not expect the sheep themselves to understand how they are being herded, or even why.

nope, not at all. it just shows (a) that it’s possible to fool [nearly] all of the people some of the time, and (b) many of the pis who punt on AIM are greedy, gullible and stupid, which is not a good combination.
