RE: Bit Quiet Round Here10 Dec 2024 15:28
Ian_, was never any RNS that said a buyer was *happy* with their due diligence. EUA claimed that someone who had made a “proposal” had *completed* their due diligence. but no binding offer ever materialised after that … which rather suggests that if someone was ever seriously thinking about making a proper offer for EUA assets, then the results of their due diligence made them realise it was a pretty bad idea.
[analogy: if someone is thinking of buying a house, and then gets a survey *completed*, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are ‘happy’ with the survey —- a survey might reveal that the house had many faults and is not worth much, in which case the prospective house buyer probably won’t go ahead.]
personally, i rather doubt that there ever was a genuine counterparty who was ever thinking of offering anything other than a nugatory bid. all this chatter about ‘interested parties around a table’ has just been vague waffle used to pump up the share price, allow insiders to dump, and get placings away. jmho.
