doesn’t tend to work on folks who have been around for a while, but the game is always, ? how to attract fresh meat to the grinder? - pass the parcel games, someone has to end up being the sucker on zero sum shares like EUA where the company doesn’t actually make or produce anything, or do anything which creates any real value rather than e.g. shuffling near worthless licences around.

& i am certainly not trying to persuade you to sell, matthewevans32. … i do think EUA is a dreadful company and a very poor investment, but it’s no skin off my nose whether you sell, stick, add or twist.

i have no criticism at all to make of ordinary, polite honest pis who may have invested in EUA, though I despise (and also do laugh at) the company’s weasel words and the antics of the organised ramp crews who have tried to sucker others. it is unfortunate that some emotionally overinvested pis may struggle to distinguish between criticism / mockery of the company and its shills, versus mockery / criticism of themselves.

- circa 75%-80% likely a deal gets done

- circa 80-90% that’s a deal with aviva rather than another bidder

- how much is AV prepared to pay as top price? … DLG clearly a good fit for AV, & blanc won’t have started this process flippantly, but she’s a smart, sensible CEO of a company that’s already doing well, and AV doesn’t *need* this deal —- so she will probably be prepared to pay more than 250, but it is not in her or AV’s best interests to overpay - there will be a price at which she will just walk away. (no need whatsoever to pay anything like 330!)

— market reaction has been pretty favourable so far to blanc’s approach … already a fairly good premium being offered, and many DLG big holders won’t be that hard to persuade about taking some decent jam today versus uncertain 2-4 year prospects.

With the US withdrawing, and europe failing to step up to the plate to fill the gaps, ukraine might well be forced into some kind of dismal ceasefire soon, though it’s far from clear that putin would accept that & he will keep pushing for more and more until stopped by sheer brute force. but even a ‘ceasefire’ will not bring peace …. russia is already actively at war with europe, and trump’s US retreat will encourage that rather than end it.

but none of that will make any difference to EUA and its lack of underlying value. no-one wanted to buy this pile of poo when trump was president before, and no-one wanted to buy this before putin’s war.

the key problem is the lack of economically viable mining assets, not the politics.
