isnt the only point of a peer review to go to publication? And what would be the point of publication at the moment when more data is about to appear per se? Dont get the obsession with peer review... yes, the lancet or Jama etc wont publish without probably but why would synairgen want to spend their time currently, this week, worrying about publication of a trial when they have already moved on from that. Dont get it. we all know what it will say anyway... " small sample size; looks good, would have been better to control for diabetes, progress onwards to bigger sample". There. I've written one.

Dave: i think what could happen... would be that they would enter into exclusive talks with someone and issue an rns to this effect... public companies wont want a bun fight and will probably ? ask for exclusive talks. They might then make a payment to the company for this and to see the books, which synairgen would keep if it fell through. If they went down this route, then there would be an rns. If an offer was then made - or if an offer was made in any event, there would be an rns from the board that they were recommending x to the shareholders on y date. The share price would then automatically be adjusted to this.

swim... i'd be real careful to not discuss this further as your other half probably / almost certainly should not be disclosing anything to you at all and you may be putting his job on the nose. My other half point blank refuses to discuss anything at all until after it is public knowledge. I am the very last to know. I don't think id take the risk personally.... there are a myriad of other companies in this sector you know nothing about. I think if you were accused of insider dealing, what you have just admitted in that you knew the results before the public would be quite damning evidence tbh. Why take the risk? Or ask Synairgen themselves for their view given your other half works for them? If they are OK, then probably OK. If they are not OK, then you have your answer.

Circassia is another Woodford long term share - originally collapsed due to trial of cat allergies (LOL) failing. they seem to have forgotten about cat allergies now thank goodness... but if you go to their web site they make a nice imaging thing and i'm wondering if this would go nicely with Synairgen as presumably you need to know how infected the lungs are. This isnt a ramp for circassia - it has been a dog for me - but i can see that it has a product which might be helpful to Synairgen and cheaper than a CT or MRI or whatever it is they do and it has just started to move a little bit so anyone interested, take a look.

you may be right ... but i just think it is extremely difficult to forecast how many people will have covid 1 year, 2 years or 3 years from now, if not impossible. IMHO, just a lot easier to do this on COPD. Just a view. Its OK to have a different one):

Its actually quite hard for a pharma to value this company as it has no revenue; thus they need to accurately financially model the likely profit during the course of the pandemic if they want to buy synairgen for virus reasons. The only way to do that probably is to a) work out how much can physically be made in the next 12 months and b) to compare that to what eg the EU paid to secure Rendesivir as a benchmark. That will probably give them an idea of how much they can turnover & their profit. A big pharma would want to return its money on the virus pretty quickly as virus might not be around in 3 years. Thus, its much more likely to be bought due to COPD, which is way more known; will be here for a long time, can return investment over a longer time period etc.
