Dont be complacent - this is a **** desease as anyone working on a covid ward can testify. You dont want to survive covid to be in kidney failure. The ct scans of the young who think they have had it mildly and dont realise look awful.

I gather from a london teaching hospital which has been full with covid patients there are three main reasons - the people who were dying have been inside for weeks, so the people now being admitted are younger; they started to use steroids so not so many dying but still very ill with long term issues ( which are not regularly reported upon); in the early days a lot of people caught in hospital but this has now changed. They also think kids are primary infection risk and they are not in school. The study below albeit on one example only, shows this risk. They do know that if you get it mildly and also get flu - you might not even realise you have covid, you are likely to die of flu as your immune system will not react to the flu.
Viruses do tend to get weaker over time so one lives in hope of that as it is not much good to the virus to kill its host

This isnt over... 3million at risk in uk are still shielding even though boris says ok. You dont want this badly its a horrible desease with long term health implications. 4000 more people now on dialysis in uk due to it. Death rates falling because millions still indoors despite boris and docs using steroids etc but long term issues.

2 weeks ago the kids in berlin went back to school. 42 schools in berlin now tested positive. So i would think we might have uproar before the flu season. Anyone know if you can give this stuff to children?

I dont think the gov will make any announcements until its Known it can be scaled up... imagine boris saying well we have this fantastic product but only 20,000 can have it... everyone would laugh at him. So, imo, once they have a known certain scale up in place then it is entirely different.
I know they are working on this for autumn, but just cant see it being announced until A bit more set in stone as tabloids would have a field day when you have eg 1000 cases per day... i almost think the scale up is more important than anything else.

Ghia knows all about Leonard and is way more knowledgable on this... but my 2p worth is that he seems to have bought in via his personal pension fund 21 Apr 2016, when he owned 3% ish of the company. Further he seems to like early stage businesses and seems to take roughly 3% to start with. On 27 March 2020, which was (?day after) announcement of covid thing, he had built up his stake in Syn to 9.72m shares - cant be bothered to look what happened between 2016 and March 2020. When it shot up on manic monday he sold just under 2m of them so he roughly 20% topped off - so now on a 'free' - must remember to do that in future given the guy is a genius! - he increased his stake in Sareum at same time to roughly the 3% he seems to like to start with on his early stage cos. He's an ex mega fund manager. Ive been stuck in for a long time due to sons kidney transplant so been going a bit crazy so i started to look at what else he owned as if you google him, then he appears to be utterly at the top of his game so it quite interesting to look at what else he is invested in. Also, now the others have bought in, he might feel that it is going to be acquired or taken private and that he wanted to free up a bit to look for others on multiple multiples. Its in his pension fund so i think its quite good that the ii's buy him out - expect Vanrock or others have picked it up - its like a new investment cycle is starting... not many stay in after eg 4 or 5 years at 10-15x multiples... they go hunting on other pastures - he looks to have made more than 10m on this...

Joey... they all drive me mad so dont rush to jump ship. Decide what you want to do then decide.
For example: I want:
1. Alerts that alert me when crossovers occur ie when something hits a long term moving average, or last week breaks through a moving average etc which means i dont have to look at screens. Most people have rubbish alerts like a set price etc but not crossovers. IG good for this.
2. I want to know where the fib points are without bothering to work them all out at different times. Investing.com great for this.
3. I want a multicurrency account as e.g to hold a euro bank account costs about 60 euros per annum and you can get a debit card to use in france, spain etc etc. without ever paying anything and choose when to convert your currency. You can then buy e.g. Roche or Sanofi in euros and keep in euros - HL would charge about £900 ish to trade in and out of the euros to £. Ditto US$. Cheapest multicurrency is ii but it doesnt cover swiss or france... which Saxo cover but then you are back onto the cost per share thing.
4. I want level 2 sometimes. I wont go into that!! Ditto CFD.

So i keep thinking... FFS, why cant one platform offer what i want?!? Someone missing a trick or two here.

pmjh... been using investing.com for several years for prices, info and technical. Its fab but ive been driven nuts by the adverts all over the screen... but i wanted to thank you for the link below, as i clicked on it to see if you had the same issue with flippin adverts everywhere and lo and behold, you dont! Furthermore, in opening your link, it reset mine and they all disappeared!!! This is as good as magic monday to me so thanks!!!!! Cant tell you how excited I am!!
ToJoey: HL is very easy to use and also they are normally, outside of covid, easy to talk to if you have an issue. They are a bit rubbish on stocks bought in other currencies. However, investing.com gives you all the analysis, shows you the fib points, great charts - you can set up your own and save them and show cross overs like when the 9 day crosses through the 20 etc etc. Free. So you can have investing.com open for prices and charts and simply order on HL without changing your account. However, iMHO, neither are any good at alerts if thats what you want too. IG has lovely alerts but are a right pain in neck to deal with in my experience.
If you are into trading USA or European markets, then totally different and you;d make different decisions as HL has silly forex charges and refuses to have multi-currency accounts.

Its a lot less stressful if a) you can afford to lose it / your life will continue on quite happily per se b) you accept you can never get it right - there is no-one on the planet who buys right and sells right so no point in beating yourself up about any of it c) its not life threatening and should be at least quite fun. If it isnt, then sell a few so you dont worry so much. I'm an analyst but i still treat it a bit like betting on the footie. The hardest thing is doing what you know you should do - i sometimes see something staring me in the face and i cant bring myself to do it which is curious - brain is a funny thing... i kind of knew i must invest heavily per se in USA end March for example but i just couldnt bring myself to do it.
But the reason people are stress free on this board is that most of us long since recouped our investment so are all very happy bunnies):
