As the say goes WildOne1, "Rome was not built in a day"
I also take your point there have been failures, and when these occurred if I felt these were related to Matad and poor management I stated so.
However, I am warming to an encouraging change that for me is visible and welcome.
End of October and was walking around today in a t-shirt. Weather still unseasonably good.

I am reasonably fair and balanced in how I view Matad.
I think they have had a difficult year. The placing and Block XX, were not their finest hour in my opinion. However they have delivered SL, and will also deliver WH. Success is another matter, but that's why folks like us invest.
As for Mike, he has stuck at it. I dare say after coming into a business that needed to adjust to him, and likewise he probably needed time to assess and understand what he had taken on, the last few months I consider successful, and I for one knowing Mongolia and how it works, feel he has done a good job.
It's very easy to kick someone or a group of people attached to a business when things are not going well. Sometimes it's also worth understanding improvement and the hard work that person or group has achieved. Living and working in Mongolia can test the best, send you round the bend, and then spit you out.
My view is, the last few months have been successful in terms of change so congratulations Matad.
Now find us the oil we all crave !!
Onwards !!!
To be honest who cares what either Oiler or Fundy has to say.
Both do at times contribute information that can at times be useful. If you disagree just park what they say. It's certainly not going to change my view of life.
Like most here at the moment I am in the hole, however that can change either this year or next and regardless of what people post, oil may, or may not be discovered.
Until then I must admit I enjoy listening to people's opinions, no matter how much they may differ to mine.
Fundy.
Don't you listen to all those nasty posters. Keep ramping the sh-t out this.
If you can get it to 10p by the end of the week, I will cook you your tea when next in the UK.
Weather still splendid.
Maybe WH is the lucky one ??
Onwards.
Has someone hit Fundy on the head with something heavy ??
Not a mention of weather.
And has also developed an unlikely passion for wanting economic growth to benefit the Mongolian people !!
Either a changed man, been smoking something, or just brought back in.
You do make me giggle buddy.
If we are getting down to typo issues to fill the day, times must be tough !!
I got back today from leave and the good news is the weather is still fantastic. Next week does not look to bad either although we are then in double digit minis figures at night.
All in all if Matad can deliver WH this year, all may not be lost just yet.
Onwards.
Weather looks to be assisting Matad at least up till the end of October, so long may that continue.
In terms of other posts guys, I am sure Matad will spud and keep us all informed of their activities, so in Matad we must continue to trust, which is the main reason most of us have large amounts of capital invested !!
Until other news emerges I guess we can only hope investors view this opportunity favourably and we see an increase in SP up to spud. Let's be honest it cannot get much worse at the present moment!!
Onwards !!!!
Before you all write Oiler off as not quite right, I think so far some of his content has been fairly spot on.
Oiler you say you work for Nexen and are currently offshore. I therefore assume you are on the Buzzard, which from memory is made up of four top sides. What’s the call sign for the production and accommodation platforms. ?
Bang that out, credibility may just be restored and who knows we may just have the first OIM poster on this board.
Fundy
Your even giving me a bloody headache with your weather predictions, and a lot of the time I do agree with content in your posts.
On this occasion both you, me and everyone else invested here, may or may not be at the mercy of the Mongolian weather. Winters do differ in Mongolia so it’s simply a lottery, and we may or may not get lucky.
Your more than welcome to pop out and stay a few days, because then you can see first hand if your predictions may be correct !!
Until then buddy I will alert all potential recruiters we may have a meteorologist looking for work !!!
TonyB
A very sensible message.
No amount of ramping is going to send this north. It is what it is. Another well in uncharted territory with a reasonable COS, based on potential rewards available.
Now Matad has Twitter, (I wonder where that idea stemmed from), I am sure they will keep everyone abreast of progress. That’s a big change and very positive !!
Oiler. For what it’s worth I cannot disagree with some of the content of your posts. Facts are facts, however potential however unrealized, is still potential.
Somewhere in the middle is the balance.
Ojay.
Good crack last night. I do like some one with a pair of gonads, so respect to you !!
I think we can now concur we are both fully committed to the Matad cause, so as you say, hopefully success will come our way shortly !!
Sch, the Yak went years ago mate !! 😋
Read your posts to me buddy.
You said you were in IT ?? You lost your marbles or the thread ??
Some advise for you. There are about six guys on this board that really understand Matad, project execution in terms of the South Gobi, and how Mongolia really works. You my friend are not one of them.
You critique others but when it comes down to it, you have a very limited understanding of living and working in frontier markets. Of the six of us in UB that are invested on this board, you my friend make us laugh the most.
So instead of trying to present yourself as someone versed on what people like me do, reel your neck in, listen to what actual factual posters say, and remember if you were as smart as you believe, you would be in Mongolia, doing what us guys do !!
Night night buddy, bedtime xx
Pro / Ojay
With all that spare time on your hands, can I suggest a project management course for the two of you.
Maybe a P6 course would give the pair of you some idea around planning and scheduling.
It just may help you understand in a bit better detail how we deliver major projects.
Of course optional guys !!!
