Also, I don' think conventional battery technology is sustainable from 3 aspects:
1) natural resources required to fulfil a switch to conventional battery EVs is not sustainable
2) charge times
3) battery weight/size to reduce recharging frequency reduces efficiency and vehicle space

Mucksy - I think you hit the nail on the head there - we clearly need/needed a step change away from the petrol/diesel engine - I could never understand why the engine had little development in the 100 years or so since inception when clearly all around technology is moving apace. Of course that was the oil industry milking their dirty ways for as long as they could. Thankfully, this is now changing at last and yes, now that we are slowly moving away from the old tech, new tech will evolve at a much faster pace. It'll be like letting my crazy spaniel off the lead :)

So where are AFC with the Alkammonia project ? There is clearly massive potential here for either transport or static electricity generation for standalone generators..... AFC is like a pressure cooker at the moment in terms of expected newsflow and potential commercial opportunities.... that wasn't meant to sound like a ramp, it's FACT !

Hi Junior - why wouldn't AFC want to release news ? It's in theirs and their shareholders interests to release news, not to mention from a regulatory requirement.

Hi Junior - there's no doubt funds will need to be raised at some point in the next 5-6 months. I think Desertwolf had worked this out also based on burn rate. Adam Bond had also mentioned previously about other forms of fund raising mechanisms other than share dilution. I'd like to think that these are still being considered and with DeNora so closely involved, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of link there also.
The SP seems to be held down for some reason and I am mystified as to why this might be give that we are far more de-risked than 2 years ago with a firm contract in place. If a placing is being orchestrated then I would have hoped it was at a higher level than this given that the last one was 10p and we're now in a much stronger position than before.

Hi Silures - well the AFC website needs to be updated to reflect a new country and the Southern Oil contract added for a start as well any progress updates for other projects such as alkammonia/power-up. A website is a window into the company in this day an age - it should be regularly maintained, professionally designed with a simple layout.

Agreed that we all need to start getting more positive again. The days of "fake news" are gone, thankfully. We have an initial contract with potentially more lining up that we should hear about later in the year. We, as investors should now start singing the praises of the team at AFC along with DeNora with the potential of many more contracts down the line. We need more investors on board and we need the SP to start moving in a direction which more reflects its true value.... way north of where we are now for sure.

All good responses, thanks. Yes, it is dispiriting but I feel buoyed by the fact that we have an early taker with Southern Oil and of course DeNora continue to play a major on-going role.

I firmly believe we will get there but it will be a steady but strong progress to get the bulk manufacturing sorted (that in itself is a major project and there will no doubt be glitches along the way). Southern along with Stade will provide a brilliant reference site for AFC and is better positioned perhaps for any potential opportunities in Korea and Middle East countries.

This was never going to be a quick move to commercialisation - we're tantalisingly close but I still think we have 12-18 month before everything is in place for fulfilling multi-MW orders. That doesn't mean we won't be able to fulfil smaller bespoke orders in the meantime of course.

No doubt we will see the value of the deposit received in the next set of accounts.

Something mysterious is happening (or not happening) with the SP. We are now commercial in reality and have received payment for work to define the engineering for an initial order. A couple of years ago the SP would have flown sky high on this sort of news (back then it was just MOUs and no product in sight ! ). Either someone is building a large stake in AFC or someone is offloading a large stake or we're just no longer on anyone's radar to warrant a decent gain on very positive news. I despair !

Holiday season lull maybe ?

The SP is lower than when I first invested in 2010. If we have a working/commercial product, the IP alone must be worth at least 50p prior to full commercial position. I'm in no rush to sell but I'd like to see a SP that reflects the current status of the product/company.
