Depends how much of the gold price is because of being a safe haven and Ukraine, and how much is beginning to catch up with increasingly negative real interest rates: if the latter the pullback may be short lived IMHO

I read this differently. Why not stick with Anza and wait for the money to roll in (hopefully) rather than spending it before it has. The management to my mind is spending more of our limited capital on their self aggrandisement on yet another exploration project that no one else has wanted to buy, which means more capital raising down the road. In my view it is such a shame when miners pump profits or potential ones into highly speculative holes in the ground rather than trying to build and maintain cash that is king. Please tell me I am wrong as I am sure you will, and the market has this morning …….so far.

Yes Nookie it is exploration which means sometimes big profits come and sometimes they don’t so holding these is not so much investment as gambling, even Newmont Agnico are gambling on a whole number of exploration prospects some of which will come good, some not, so we are the biggest gamblers if unlike them we have all our exploration eggs in one basket here like me. Could end up another Ggp or eua, or like the fare more explorers that don’t, thus the huge profit given to those explorers that do.

Pretty stunning that even with silver moving back up near $24 and gold near $1860 Hoc down again to its lowest yet since the Covid crash two years ago, below 100. it is true the results should be ok for 2021, around £75m but this year down to £50m, costs rising and some big investors must be very worried about politics if still selling into rising gold. Hard to chill out, unless you are miraculously right and gold not only holds on to its gains but soars taking us up 30% in 30 days

Tornado I quite agree and so hard to call, I remember when Trump won gold soaring and then quickly falling back and at so many other ‘events’. However one day the Wolf will be real and it is just possible it is this time with this mad inflation. No one truly knows, and we just have to wait, but anecdotally I have come across a few people talking of buying gold, plus sentiment has been so bad recently hopefully many sellers are out. We shall see, not just tomorrow which will tell us nothing but over the next months. Ever hopeful…

Paul, sorry I just saw your question. I hoped that when Cey was 220 it would go on and hit £3. But yes, that was pre wall and pre the huge rise in costs also coming from oil rise and inflation. Now we will see falling profits as also the gold price has been declining in real terms -$100 over last year; so gold will have to near $2000 just to be level with a year ago, and with our increased costs more like $2200 for us. So yes if endeavour made the same offer again now worth around 150 I would probably jump at it and put the money in Barrick as so well managed, and much lower costs, to get the rise I need to build. But unlikely imho, rather looks like a slow decent at the moment

I think that the problem is that as long as gold is stuck in this range, that it has been for so many months, cost inflation slowly eats away at most gold miners profits. They need gold 10% higher than a year ago to account for all the extra costs including of course Oil; in real terms gold is lowest it’s been in nearly two years, when and if it will catch up is the big question. Whatever todays cpi will be way ahead of the price.

Don’t get too carried away; actually Platinum, Palladium, iridium and ruthenium are all down over the last week and this month, luckily rhodium is making up for them and edging our basket up but only slowly and our basket is still to break back above $3000. I seem to remember that ths was around 150 when the basket was over $4000, and costs back then were lower as plenty of inflation esp in energy over the last year. However this slow steady rise in our share price, justified by the slow steady rise in the basket, is a pleasure to see, even if a long way to go in both, especially to get back to those amazing profit levels last year. Fingers crossed, but not quite yet.

Yes we have a rather fat saggy bottom but are somewhat unpriapic in that we are completely incapable of getting it up even when faced by todays rising gold and silver. Can someone administer Hoc a very large dose of viagra please
