KPMG knew precisely what was going on,the company borrowed far too much on a flimsy balance sheet full of Goodwill and even more goodwill slung into intangible assets.In a tightening drinks market it has zero value. And we thought they were clueless???

But,as usual it will be a cover up.KPMG were the independent Auditors and themselves and the other 3 make far too much money for HMG. One sliver of good news,at least this bad news will be chip paper sooner than the constant reminder Carillion keeps throwing up.

I wish Sky could get their figures right,1st para its �135m then reported as �125m later. The longer this goes on then there is some element of truth in saying suppliers will start to leave,so CVR need to release some news fairly soon. If your hoping for an early settlement on this SFO thing you maybe waiting a long time before buying in. I did buy yesterday at 514p because at the time the Dow still looked perky.There are a lot of outside forces currently moving prices but pfc did reveal some very good news last week,Moodys,contract wins and director buys so i believe the current dip is going to be short lived,as long as the overall market doesn't fall of cliff.

After last weeks flurry of good news,i would be inclined to add 100p to your calculations,although today i see it falling and will therefore buy if it falls below 517p

Where have you been. PWC were behind the Tesco fiasco and KPMG Carillion. This immediately suggest to me you have no knowledge of accounting scandals,prehaps you should follow the Parliamentary committee evidence on Carillion to get up to speed. Surely you must be fully aware of these bad practices?

And if you trust KPMG or PWC then you are a bigger fool than me.

A polite reminder of the value of goodwill.Carillion had �1.56billion on its books but alas on liquidation that value was a big fat zero. Hope thats real enough for you!

Agree with Bertie,Someone had to take the blame so Hunter walked and that gives me an indication that finance will be forthcoming.With regards to bs value if you strip out the goodwill there is nothing there,however failure at this early stage would mean the ii along with us will lose everything and i think the company can turn things around so it will be given a chance to survive. Not a particularly good time for these events to unfold but thats how the cookie crumbles sometimes.
