The essense of sticking it on a lorry and driving it to Dusseldorf is because its time sensitive otherwise i'm sure they would be happy to use the Felixstowe facilities. Kern,i think most of your dreams would be answered by higher productivity.Low wage policy will suck in labour from around the world if your own is fully utilised.It is essential the UK puts productivity as its highest goal whether in the EU or world trade,our robots can compete with any cheap workforce. The size of our workforce can be tweaked by extending higher education,proper apprenticeships or even the dreams from the 1960/70s of reducing the retirement age. Currently it takes 1 frenchman to change a lightbulb while 1.25 Brits. With regards to over crowding this island always has been and the car changed everything. Many of the new builds where i live lack any gardens so there is no in between the house and jumping in the car to go out.The current house build policy is designed to put pressure on public open space.

addicknt,agree its nice to be assured that pfc has a long term future,7 years plus but only to mention long term could suggest that there may be choppy waters in the short to medium.We are still facing the outcome of a sfo investigation and along with a bond flop this tuesday which would have been handy for any up coming fine doesn't give me confidence that the BOD feel they have won over the sfo. Growth and prosper in general terms would have been sufficient to me.

Back in January the Government made a big decision not to support Carillion,they didn't shy away and they knew the consequence,so why is so hard to get to grips with the big 4 accountancy firms. Just like not supporting Carillion it will be messy but once its out of the way life will go on.Then when an Auditor signs off a set of accounts and gives it the "going concern" stamp,confidence will be restored. Isn't the duty of government to make the UK system the best in the World !
