If you accept Germany hides behind a weak Euro and i do,then Britain hides within EU when it comes to service trade.
The EU inc UK has a 133billion euro surplus in service trade but hidden within this the UK has a surplus of £84 billion so the EU surplus is actually ours.We currently have a £20 billion service trade surplus with the U.S alone which i'm sure if we were to negotiate seperately, the States would want equalisation.
U.S service trade with EU/UK in total is in balance exports EUR 218b,imports EUR219b.

Still catching knives but i wear chainmail gloves now.Cannot think longterm and on occassions its cost us,ie isat,pfc but a profit is a profit.Went into boo 4 times but out the same day.This time of year is meant to be quiet(silly season) but with Trump on the plot no rest and i feel he may have to back down on his trade position which would be positive.
Talktalk have raised their prices wef 17/0718 but only on boosts so it hasn't had the press releases.Raising boosts by a £1-£1.50 month probably has less effect on customer numbers as this group can probably afford it,to put it another way i haven't done anything about it.On the revenue side if you can achieve another £1 month on say half your customer base then thats another £24m.

Swansea lagoon sums up this country's short term view.If they had proceeded with all the lagoons,at the same time then i agree with the government but this was pilot at same strike price of £92.50 as Hinkley.
The country needs to be proud of some infrastruture build.
This indecision has been going on for years and on two occassions,Concorde and the Channel Tunnel,it has required French insistence that we complete the projects which have worked out to be great successes for the UK.

Sure as a customer we have had our up's and down's with 2nd language english call centre's and data gaff's but for £30 a month including foreign call add on's and a free ph sim it has potential to increase margin or get swallowed up.

Nothing is risk free and IMHO.

Credit Suisse reported that this years buy back could total £1.5 billion so at current rates i feel they will possibly announce an additional £500m at the interims which wouldn't change things much.

Just to confirm todays fig of 744m shares at 64.73p is the correct fig and your fig's from the 20th June are wrong.

You are now stating by close yesterday 744m shares bought at av of 64.73p,which indicates 48.15% of buy back spent.Therefore since last figs 76m have been purchased for £481.5-£440.8= £40.7m,that would make an average of 53.55p on these additional buy backs
Can you confirm whether these figure's are correct?

Lti posted on the 20th june that 668m shares had been bought back for £440.8m,i'm inclined to believe these figures as opposed to number of illegals,which gives an average of 65.98p,however the last 10 days may have pushed this fig closer to 65p.

Stage,i cannot see your logic of a buy back when your biggest shareholder wants out at best possible price.Better to attract more inward investment with the attraction of a dividend,IMHO.

Assuming the smallest team you could put forward on a pro rata basis is one,then China v Iceland would be an incredible match to watch.Iceland's 1 player would face 3429 opponents,not a dead cert but i feel China would win.lol

I get the feeling a lot of people here would like to see the rise of German nationalism,talk is we must get them to spend more on defence-are you nuts!!.

LTI,i was assuming that the 2% would come from the 10%,whatever,i must add whats good for Lloyds this year will be good for shareholders in the longer term.

The key question is what % they want to buy back in total.Is it 10%,20% does anyone out here know?.
I would imagine Lloyds want to get back as many as possible at best price and today's uncertain market is great for that.
You could feel like LTI,Lloyds could announce the remaining 8% will be purchased this year but if the total buy back is going to be 20% the remaining 10% would then have to be bought at a premium.If this share was at my target price of a £1,then each 10% would cost an additional £3 billion.
My feelings are if this buy back is to continue then more of the same for this year,a price that suits Lloyds to carry on buying and not its shareholders.

SUFC,would you dive off Southend pier if you didn't know where the bottom was?.We've all done it before trying to second guess the bottom and true Lloyds is a solid share but surely its better to buy on a rising tide.Yes,you may lose out 3% on a gap up but as said before there will be plenty of time to get aboard,Lloyds is a big ship remember.
We are all guilty of FOMO but currently this is a MO when we could have bought better some where else or have simply left the market to do its thing for a while.

Trump is a risk taker,fine when your taking your own risks(personal/business) not so fine when your taking risks on behalf of others.Politicians have no vested interests and If it doesn't work out he can always blame the electorial mandate.The current trade risks to world growth are becoming bigger than our own Brexit risk.
The U.S currently represents 20% of the world economy so taking on the 80% is a risk too far,much better to take on individual players which you can overwhelm.If he doesn't back down after over shooting then this state of affairs isn't going to end any time soon.However with mid term elections coming up in the fall i feel he will have to back track and turn it into some kind of victory to hold onto the mid-west states.

Must be time for something/someone to pop up and mention above.

What i said was these companies are planning to move.
If they are wise they will probably wait to see if there is a long term correction down in sterling,however if the Euro also slides as many here are predicting our competitive position will not change.Whatever happens i couldn't see them increasing their investment in the UK if their markets are in Europe.
