Multi-nationals will relocate to wherever the cost of production is the least and wherever there is the least amount of friction in meeting demand.What we do know is Airbus and BMW are making plans for such a move.In addition Harley Davidson to meet the above are relocating to the EU and unless there is a good run on the pound to compensate for us not being in the EU then it wont be us.
I'm not on the board of any EU companies so not privvy to their intentions,all i can go by is what's in the public demain.
As you like asking daft questions,could you make me a list of multi-nationals who are moving to the UK and wish to have a fettered experience in exporting to their main markets within Europe??

Its only on these occassions you actually find out that the EU is still only a trading club made up of 27 soveriegn nations debating there own particular view point on every subject under the sun and all having a veto and the chance to have a meaningful vote as to whether they agree with the Brexit deal.
It was never about complete failure,we would always have our daily bread,it was about being part of something and for some they find that hard.
If we cannot reach agreement by Xmas 2018,then the timetable will have to be extended into the transition period if indeed the transition period exsist.The continuing uncertainty will continue to erode investment into the UK and lack of growth costs will far exceed net contributions by multiples.
So are we being punished or is it self mutilation either way its not a good backdrop for the UK or Lloyds and to give Lloyds credit they did highlight it as their number one risk.
P.S apart from referendum day i've enjoyed the market mucking!!.

LTI, the dollar earners operate in a world environment of growth.To give you an idea the dow was approx 18,000pts in 06/2016 and now stands at 24,000pts a 33% increase.The ftse 100 does not indicate the health of UK economy.

Here's another possible.UK gov have seriously not made any preparations because apart from being incredably tight and not wanting to actually spend £1.7b on infrastructure, thier plan is to offer a referendum to the people on the actual deal which will be as you say WTO and will be rejected.

Wids,i question the layout of your facts.The first one re Lloyds falling before "Cameron opened his gob".
Cameron's surprise win on the 7th May 2015 pledged a EU referendum by 2017.Have you forgotten Camerons visits to Brussels to renegotiate our terms in the second half of 2015.Take another look at that graph around May 2015.

The 2nd point re the 8% increase since 24th June 2016 is just massaging the figs.I think we all know the referendum dip was overdone,the price on the day before ie 23rd june would give a completely different picture.

Currently Labour party policy is above with a slightly softer approach.Its the best of both worlds.You can say your supporting the "will of the people" and more importantly you can watch the Tories fight amongst themselves.
I have changed my opinion on a Autumn calamity because politically it would not be advantageous for Labour to be carrying the baby on the 29th of March 2019,the party thats does is doomed.
So Labour will do what it's meant to,oppose and like this week will allow in a close call for the Government to win.

What i was trying to point out by selling key parts of UK industry we lost control.If the UK subsidary is a small part of there overall business then as Fleccy pointed out they will just chase the money to somewhere else.
Unlike Lloyds which is very commited to UK and therefore also government influence,these foreign owned business will simply upsticks.

If it is WTO,we will need a run on the pound for these companies to stay and for others to arrive or the very long term aim of UK companies to rise from the ashes.
