I like compromise in life and leaving the EU but staying in the customs union seemed one,however we now have the mother of all fudges,the third way.Its too complex and i don't like it either.

Apart from the 2016 blip of Syrian refugees to Germany the UK let in 285,000 in the year ending Sept 2017.In 2016 the fig was 372,000 and during Theresa May's reign at the Home Office it never fell below 239,000.As much as the British public have concerns of boat people in the Med,i'm sure the EU has concerns with the inability of the UK to stem immigration from the rest of the World.As Tricky has pointed out access to the UK means access to the rest of EU.

Personally i'm not too concerned as the demographics of the UK means we will have to maintain these figures if the economy is to grow but to twist it around to say the EU was responsible as per the gutter press and Boris Johnson in the build up to the referendum was dirty politics.

My feelings on Lloyds are the big buy backs circa 35m-50million were placed because they believe there will be a gentle rise before reporting on the 1st Aug.The last thing Lloyds BOD would want is the SP rising too fast.With that in mind,i'm thinking now that they may not announce an additional buy back until later in the year if the SP has got in front of itself on the 1st Aug.

Chancer your arguement is flawed.High end/value added might survive but would be exporting into a world of tariffs and the bulk of normal stuff without productivity improvements would be decimated by imports from SE Asia.UK needs a manufacturing base of 15% even with a strong service sector.
Input costs on high end/value added is less relevant when compared to finished product tariffs.
Can you name one developed unilateral free trade country which doesn't impose any import tariffs?Thankyou.
