I hope and expect that the war will end with defeat for Russia and a degree of political change in the Kremlin. Russia needs inward investment so I hope there will be positive overtures in EUA's direction as a result of that. I have the patience.

It's almost laughable now. Russia has been preparing this propaganda to pretend USA attacked the gas pipeline for a while. They didn't. Russia did it.

I can tell you for nothing that the USA would not announce it's intention to damage the pipeline with a covert operation politically before doing it.

In fact I don't see any free nations pulling back from enduring support for Ukraine. Holding the line. Another huge weapons package coming from the USA this week.

I also note the relative operational silence over the last few days suggesting further push by Ukraine into occupied territories. I would expect news on this soon.

I see Georgia Meloni has tweeted her support to Zelensky today. I don't support her right wing views but shows that Italy is not about to distance itself from supporting Ukraine.

Lot's of stressed selling right across the market today. The current situation following Quasi Chancellors mini bonanza is causing huge issues for the economy and money will shift to relative safety.

Can't see much impact on this stock beyond this stressed selling. Prospects still stand. I'll be holding on. Sucks to see an investment fall but there is a wider context right now. Trying to keep my chin up.

So as I have previously stated. A trope of Russian propaganda is to try to justify todays wrongs with other previous wrongs. I.e. we can do this because they once did this. It’s a trick see and some fall for it. It generally comes with offering other justifications to try to make the current wrongs not sound so bad after all like - oh but the media is so biased and it’s just not fair.

So now we have overload of this type of behaviour. Add to that fake news about USA sabotaging gas pipelines and even USA is negotiating with China to do a dirty peace deal sacrifing parts of Ukraine to leverage….. we’ll seriously its all out there today.

Truth is that Russia is losing this illegal war and now it is trying to leverage opinion in the free world with this carp. They hope to erode confidence in the sanctions and raise fear for Putins big bluff.

FYI - Russia has sabotaged the gas pipelines to create an economic shock to further increase gas prices and scare the free world. It’s actually a bit late as Europe is close to being energy sufficient without Russia. Russia was keen to get this done whilst there was still a potential risk European market to leverage. They know that turning away from Russian gas supply is now a done deal - another Putin miscalculation - he calculated that Europe would not stand strong on this.

Putin is pretty desperate. He knows he has no new cards to play and so plays his cards roughly.

That big rise we had on 14th September. £70m volume that day. Exceptional in recent context. Has me wondering. There were a lot of fat c.400k trades that day. Someone was confident to set a position. Or was it just traders bringing it up to sell out again over the next few days. Volume was not high enough in the subsequent days for the latter I think.

Watcher. You are right about that happening. Tough times and people will strap in. However and perhaps perversely - inflation is good for stocks. Last time we had this fear of interest rates burying us was under Thatcher and it was boom time for a lot of people (I hated her for what its worth).

Most of the money that goes in and out of stocks is not encumbered by debt.

M9m28. It's certainly something I can se happening frequently. Very volatile down here. Money to be made if you have any skill for timing. I don't.

Think we will get another run on this as the week goes on. There is a tempting angle on this for traders as they see a rise ahead of interims. I can't see it lasting without concrete news though.

Also conscious that Russia will announce results of it's sham election on Friday? That doesn't sound good for the SP unless Putins big off ramp is to declare that the people have voted to stay in Ukraine!!

Anyway. There will be another round of sanctions inevitably.
