Russia made a massive strategic mistake. Now they can't find a way out hence all of the bluff and threats. It's over and all that remains is to see how it ends for Putin. It would be better if many more people didnt have to suffer whilst it unravels.

I think this is possible. I can’t see a winning situation now for Putin. Best case Russia gets much poorer and less influence globally. Only so much propaganda can do.

Been seeing some of the videos of Russian men being piled onto busses to fight in Ukraine. Men from poor regions of Russia unless they are protestors from last night who find themselves conscripted at the police station - arrested for not wanting a war!

It's actually so awful living in Russia, outside of middle class St Petersburg and Moscow, that's it likely fairly appealing to get on that bus and live a few weeks.

They lost even before Putin invaded Ukraine. I really hope the outcome of all of this is a better future for Russians.

The world is shades of grey - way more complex than you understand but ultimately there is the grey and then we have the full on outright evil that is Putin.

Russias current regime is full on 100% a murder state. How does anything in that article forgive what Russia is doing? Putin is literally suggesting that if he doesn't get his way it justifies using nuclear weapons?

What I saw and heard in the video:

First few seconds of the interview - 'has the Russian economy collapsed yet?' Nobody imposing sanctions believed or intended that the Russian economy would have collapsed by now.

References that disconnection from SWIFT was expected to cause the Russian economy to collapse. This is not true - it was considered a partial impact alongside other sanctions.

Quoting Russian economic ministry data as facts. They are made up numbers - nothing publicly disclosed by Russian ministry's is true.

Going on and on based on a single anecdote about washing machine chips. It was never intended as a literal analogy.

It got really rubbish from that point onwards. I could smell it.

Ohmni. Russia is not coping with the pain. They are forcibly conscripting people. They are not coping - they are killing there own people.

Russia has never coped. They have a history of revolution, of genocide, of poverty.

You insult Russian people. They want what we have. As did the Poles and the Romanians and many more. It's just that if they try to achieve that in Russia they will be killed.
