Have I missed something?

Is there a reason why you all think there is going to be a divi cut?

The last advice was that the dividend was going to be progressive. The dividend is covered by EPS so not sure if I have missed a statement or a leak or if you are second guessing the reason for share price dropping.

I am heavily invested here but the only thing stopping me top up further is that I keep coming back to the profit warning where they mentioned potentially cancelling contracts which would have a material cost not factored into revised profits. I think the next update will confirm this and potentially there is a leak hence the drop (surely not a broker rating??!).

Anyway, that is a negative view which I hope is wrong. Even if not I still think the price represents great value and it will recover.

Latest update had EPS level so you are right that costs will have increased but I would happily take the same EPS as last year at this price.

Cheers for the info on the cigar business. On that basis it definitely looks like a good deal.

Re buyback.

Anyone take the view that the closing price today may well have been a lot lower without IMB buying 300,000 shares? Great that they bought them so cheap but worrying that this buying pressure didn’t halt a 13% drop.

Bit annoyed as i topped up two days ago. Hovered over the buy button all day but really don't have funds I should be investing at the moment and I resisted. I think if it gets much closer to 1750 and i will have to break my rules.

With regard to £2bn asset they may sell. Great to have that either as a share buy back, debt reduction or windfall but there must be revenue and profit associated with the asset.... Anyone know what that is? Not so keen losing a £2bn asset if it generates £400m of profit....

I wonder if the directors have considered releasing a negative trading statement to give a much needed boost to sp?

It seems every time we get a positive update the sp plummets so maybe a new tact needed....

Why are these shares still trading at only a 14% discount to yesterday when the RNS is effectively saying that all equity will be sold?

I understand the logic of this but surely so does LGEN management and yet they are so bullish in their outlook and make actual reference to the current political landscape claiming that they don’t expect it to have a material impact.

As you say though. Let’s hope for some more certain times albeit it is there’s uncertainties that allow us to pick up income stocks at such low prices... do I want LGEN to be 350p when I get my next £20k ISA allowance or is it better to still be 240p...?

Topped up again this morning. Weird - at the start of the week I had no intention of LGEN becoming my largest holding.

Drop makes no sense. Only the solvency ratio was a poor result and that still wasn’t bad.

Well I had a bit of money saved for topping up IMB this morning but think I may well throw it all into LGEN instead.

Yes. Glad I topped up yesterday. That is a great interim (disclosure - I’ve only read part 1).

If this doesn’t rocket today on the back of that I will buy more so will be happy either way.

All seems good except the net debt position vs last years net cash position which seems to be brushed over and I don’t quite understand.

That aside, this share is surely due a re-rate sooner rather than later.

Yes. Never seen a rise like that after hours. Think this is a great share and I especially like how different it is to other things in my portfolio.

Well there you go folks. Me selling a share gives it a kiss of life again! Up 15% since I left. BT which is where money went is up 4% (at least it’s up!)

Regardless- my decision to sell looks to have severely backfired. Especially as I put money into Saga at 42p. Ooooops.

Weird how it seemed to take a bit of time to get going this morning.

The results were t exactly a secret since they pretty much told us they were good about a month ago. Even more weird then that the sp has languished only to get the boost today.

I think 450 to 500 would be my target sell range but doubt we will get there so I will happily hold.

Not on any RNS I have seen? Where is this positive trading statement from the 6th? Not on HL or on here?

Nice rise as it went ex div. always think it’s strange when that happens. I guess it’s only like the sp going up by 4% though which is not inconceivable. Just makes you wonder. Who bought today when they could have bought yesterday for less and taken the div?

Anyway I took this as my opportunity to get out. The shorts have been weighing on me a little but what has really made my decision is the consistent difference between reported eps and underlying eps. I don’t think you should call things exceptional if they happen every year. Loads of companies do it but one which sticks in my mind is Carillion who I had a lucky escape with.

If the Ftse didn’t have so many “safe” juicy picks (BT, LGEN, Lloyds etc) then it would be worth the risk for the yield and p/e. Good luck all. I will keep on my watch list.
