This has had a sudden pick up since lunch.

Came on here having just seen this afternoons rise. Thought I wouldn’t be the first.... strange but welcome.

Shame. If it had got up to 785 I was hoping to sell 25% of holding to rebalance portfolio....

Being offered 14 to sell and 14.1 to buy on HL. Not seen such a tight spread before on this share??

Hi MK. And another 2% up today. Jupiter is anothe high div share I’m in which went ex div yesterday. 21p and as of now are about 9p down on the 13ths closing sp. not as dramatic and let’s be honest.... it may have risen by 3% anyway.

As Riolto says it could be external events. With a daily vote on brexit it’s hard to know what the market would have done anyway.... except you can get an idea from their industry peers and in both cases they have outperformed.

I have no cash left in ISA and no allowance until 5th April so I too am waiting although my next investment won’t be in in construction. 3 biggest holdings are GFRD, LLOY and here so very exposed to uk property especially when I also have 5 BTL’s. Tech and health are next for my cash. GL

Saw a few of you discussing Dividend chasing on here a week ago or so.

Interesting what happened at GFRD today - Ex divi 23p (3.1% of SP) and rather than falling by 3% it went up by 2% - Obviously helped by last nights vote but still a very strange situation.

Be interesting to take a basket of high yielding ftse 100/250 companies and track over time the SP recovery from ex Div.... Also if there is an optimum buy in day in advance? GFRD was 732p 2 days ago, climbed to 739p in readiness for ex div, dropped to 717p (reflecting the div) this morning but then closed at 755p....

So the share pays out a 23p dividend and on the same day rather than dropping 23p in SP it gains 16p!?

So a 39p gain.... 5.4%. If it wasn't ex div today would it have gained 5.4%?? Its peers certainly haven't. Crazy few days of trading....

My second top up at 735 a couple of days ago feels like a good move but I didn't expect such a rise so quickly.

We know that IG will release a negative update due to the regulations as they have warned us as much. I suspect that this should be priced in by now but it seems to me that every time one of the CFD providers gives a negative update all 3 seem to suffer despite it being a repeat of the news.

I am in IG and really tempted at this price to buy PLUS too but can't help but think there might be a cheaper entry on IG results..... Could also be completely wrong and this may be one of the last chances to enter at sub 900.....

I am very tempted to finally buy in today (very small amount). Question is how long before their is an opportunity to get a re-rate? Feels like this is one of those share that slowly drips downwards until an RNS boosts it back up again. So do you wait for maybe another penny or so reduction or is this at a risk of missing the news whch sends it much higher.....?

I last invested in stocks and shares 5 years ago. Back then, whilst I mainly invested I. FTSE 250 shares I had a tiny gamble in RMP and got pretty addicted to the chat boards and believing the rumours and the hype. I the end I realised that I was no longer interested in investing as I was spending all my time on my smallest holding (RMP) listening to rampers talk about a “10 bagger” etc.

I ended up taking out my £26k and used it as a deposit for an £86k buy to let in Manchester. I decided it was better off putting a tenner each Saturday on a football accumulator to get my adrenaline kicks. 6 properties later I have decided to diversify and come back into my stocks and shares ISA. This time with the strict self given mandate to invest in real companies as opposed to gamble on oil strikes.

Today, I saw rmp at the top of the discussion board and for old times sake decided to take a peep......

.... It’s like 5 years never happened! Is it still 2013? Rampers, Derampers, all gamblers.... you may make money here or you may not but this is not investing. This is going to the casino and placing your savings on a number. Main difference is no one keeps handing out free drinks whilst you wait to win.

Anyway, had to say something as I couldn’t believe this was going on 5 years later. Enjoy the thrill guys and this time next year you may all be millionaires!

I guess the question to always as as an investor is: If I wasn't invested here, with fresh eyes, is this the company i would put my money in at this price?

If a clear and resounding "no" then sell and put it into the company you prefer and you will be amazed how quickly you start to feel better. Even if RMG then starts to shoot up faster than your new investment you will know that you did the what you did for the right reasons and over the long term as a PI this will make you the most money even if on individual occasions you get unlucky.

If a clear "yes" then regardless of your entry price you stick with your conviction and hold. Depending on how resounding a "yes" you gave, you may even buy more although I have recently taken an aversion to averaging down and in fact have found not being afraid to average up in a rising stock (RBS, GFRD, TW) has worked well for me (but this could be more to do with the recent buoyancy in the markets since December than anything else)

If unsure/on the fence then depending on investment size perhaps sell half and invest elsewhere whilst maintaining an interest here? My investments are almost too small to do this but i can think of a couple of companies I would do this with otherwise.

All the above is obvious I know but sometimes it is perhaps good to have a reset and think it through like this.

I remain on the sidelines here but if things remain unchanged may use Aprils new ISA allowance to get involved.

So anyone who bought on that drop last week has already made 10%. Shame I had no more to invest at the time as it seemed an obvious buy then (for once without needing the power of hindsight).

Assuming I have funds and trading statements/results don't turn more negative than the recent drop in EPS already predicted I will continue to add each and every time this goes below 570, will hold at anything below 800, may take profit if above 800 and would exit entirely above 900.

That said, I don't see 900 or 800 without a significant improvement in fundamentals meaning I would probably be sticking around anyway but who knows..... GLA

What are people expecting results rise? There was already an update on 25th Jan which has told us the 2018 results won't be good. The share price was saved by the upbeat sentiment on 2019 so really we are waiting until September to really understand if this is worth a lot more or a lot less.

The above was my logic for selling anyway.... obviously with hindsight i would be richer if I hadn't.....

Does anyone on this board also follow/invest in ITM.

I am not totally up with the tech but is this Hydrogen vs batteries or do the 2 technologies offer something different? Based on current share price where do you guys see the most growth over the next 1-2 years?
