Yes, I do work in Pharma but I rarely invest in the sector due to the long timescales involved. I didn't invest in Tils at £1.50/£1/80p.. etc but chose to invest today. The move to the NASDAQ makes sense for an America dominated company and I personally think there is money to be made. Fundamentals and product success is important of course but there are lots of ways to skin a cat and make money. You may be right of course regarding some aspects of the products/trials but that doesn't mean you can't make any money. You should consider that.!!

I didn't say there was anything special about tils. Don't get hung up on the product. Investing is about making money not debating over the merits or success of the product. The move to Nasdaq is the correct thing to do to enhance shareholder value.

Anyway.. I still don't understand what you are trying to achieve. Perhaps you are just a Good Samaritan that can see what no-one else can see.

If shield start to make inroads into the US market and it's products become widely adopted I can see the big boys sniffing around well before it reaches those valuations or achieves profitability in 2023.

Sure. I agree.
I wouldn't be that fussed short term but DX have really bigged up brilliant customer service as a way to win new business so the last thing you'd want is easily available evidence that says they can't. It looks like it's going to take a while to get it right.

Neither am I. I took it to mean they were very busy. The drivers did seem a bit stressed.

I don't know if anyone has looked at the Facebook page recently but it doesn't make heartening reading. Not sure I would have one with all the complaints they have in public view. Not ideal if potential customers are looking at it. Looks like your views on customer service might not be far off portswiger !

Bought some large items from my local Ikea recently and it was delivered today by a 2 man DX team. Tried to get some info from the drivers who said they were ' pulled out '. Also said there was a lot of warehouse staff off covid isolating and they were very short of drivers. Supports what some contributors have been thinking.

Yes, Positive RNS. Interesting rather downbeat assessment of the RNS by Paul Scott of Stockopedia this morning. Unsurprising though as he is a shareholder of revolution bars who he recommends.

You say the value is in the IP. Do you know what the IP is? Is it Copyright, Trademark, Design, Patent or whatever. ?

As a short term investor currently I haven't looked but if I am considering bird longer term I would be investigating the IP in detail. It's one thing having IP, its quite another thing having the legal and financial resources to back it up it especially in the USA so I trust bird have been pretty thorough. If the opportunity space Bird is working in is as great as we think then you can bet your bottom dollar that the brightest technical minds in silicon valley will be working in it. So lets hope the IP is tight.

Be careful in thinking you are investing in a product. We don't... we invest in the management of a company.

No-one knows the worth of the IP. The value of the IP is only worth what people are prepared to pay for it. ?

There are plenty of very deep pockets in the states and elsewhere that are fully aware of birds IP and have been for a while. I don't think we are aware of anyone circling are we. American Tech companies are the most switched on .... on the planet.

The market cap reflects many things including a valuation of the company including a consideration of the perceived value of the IP. Personally and by most accepted standard formulas bird is over valued. It hasn't stop me investing though... albeit on a short term strategy until more info and financials become available.

Well, we are now on the OTCQX and IM interview on Private investor was interesting. Bird have a very good story to tell but someone has to tell it. They have been very good in attracting investment interest in the UK but now they have to do it where it really matters in the USA. They can't rely on their partners/clients and they really need a strategy to shout it from the roof tops so hopefully they have a planned PR and marketing strategy in place for the USA. IM did say in the interview
that he planned to increase the team out there and I guess this is where JH earns his corn.The listing on its own will do nothing. I'm enthusiastic about that but temper my enthusiasm with the fact it is a software company with a 90% margin and no debt that has been loosing money with an unrealistic Mcap. I certainly I hope they can exploit the undoubted growth potential.

Pockerchips. I understand the point you are making I'm not sure on the comparison. Amazon/Bird are vastly different businesses, vastly different figures and serving very different markets. There is no doubt that the financials as known do not make a good story but I invested on the potential wave underpinned almost entirely by sentiment and I could see some traction in the USA. The marketing/PR from Bird has been brilliant. The comes a point though that fudamentals will be come more important so until there was more clarity on the financial performance this was always a short term/take the profit investment for me. My own view is that the positivity surrounding the OTCQX listing is now built in so I personally wouldn't be suprised to see a fall in the near term unless more posive news is forthcoming. I may be way off of course but it will interesting to see. !

Bird for me is a very good product, a very good story, well told. But it doesn't have strong financial fundamentals. That's really why I took some profit. IM is excellent at PR, in fact one of the best I've come across but he is looked after handsomely for running a loss making business.

I'm not sure I am with you that a loss is meaningless. That's the only way to business growth unless they are taken over or there is fundraising. You can't keep losing money. In fact with the continuous flow of good news this year and the clients they have I think as a shareholder in a business with no debt and a 90% Margin I would be very disappointed if they didn't make a profit this financial year.

I'm only a recent shareholder but I really baffled by all this which is why I took some profit recently. Last year the company made a 1.8m loss after tax and is currently valued at 120M.Its operating costs were greater than its income. It doesn't make the slightest economic sense and it is some premium to pay for future growth. If bird is the greatest cloud video editing product on the planet it would make sense for the big players to be circling now not next year or in the future as there is substantial proof of concept already.

If bird are going to substantially grow the Business as they talk about then the relatively small human resources they have will need to be increased and additional financial resources

It seems we're all pinning our hopes on the Amerians really getting hold of it. If they do we could end up anywhere.

It will be interesting to see how it moves on in the next three to six months.

My view is that the sp rise is almost completely due to the OTCQX listing. For a company who majority of turnover comes from North America it was the obvious step.Generally speaking international companies see a 20% to 40% increase in trading volume on their domestic markets in the months following a OTC listing. It also helps that American Investors are more seduced by growth potential than financial fundimentals.

it's been a couple of months since I last posted and it's been super interesting reading everyones view. I agree with many posts ..all sensible contributions. I err on the side of caution with you Ports. There seems to be a lot of unknowns. We don't really know how the secure/express division has performed since they lost the HMPO contract. Delving into the next day B2C game must be a massive risk considering its low single figure margins. I agree that it must be impossible to provide market leading customer service on B2C parcels. Even Royal Mail with all their staff/logistics lose thousands of parcels a year. Planned Huge Growth with substantial capital outlay based on single figure margins sounds very risky to me and it will take some managing. I even wonder if they can do within existing financial resources.But If anyone can do it the DX directors can. My share holding is relatively modest at £25K but I don't feel I could commit to invest further at moment. It feels like we're on lap 5 out of 60 to use a comparison from yesterday. A long way to go.

Having watched the Youtube AGM, I thought the most interesting comments came from CFO - Stephen White. Very guarded on the plans for increased liquidity in the USA, and batted away the financial questions with a straight bat and a knowing smile.

I too would have liked to see some financial info in relating to recent contract wins. Perhaps it's part of a wider strategy. Bird is still pretty much under the radar, even stockopedia haven't had a discussion update since it was FBT in 2015. Surprising really.

Maybe they want to surprise the markets with a significant 5+ increase in turnover or something at the next financial update.

It seems that J Honeycutt is doing a good job for his 20K a year and options.
