I should add that I bought in at 350 in June ‘23. Watched it reach 950 in less than a month but stayed in believing there was more to come in the next 12 months. What a prat!

It does seem strange. The SP has been spiralling down for years despite the business having huge potential. I can only imagine that that is due to customers being reluctant to fully embrace the technology and continue with low paid staff. Will the recent NI changes result in greater take up? Interestingly, at the first whiff of a possible take over the SP rocketed only to drift back. Ocado just seems a great opportunity somehow stuck in an investor malaise.

Yes this is a huge opportunity but despite all the positive indicators, it is still unproven. With each and every update we get closer to the reality but for now we just have to wait. The SP has drifted up with trading off the back of anticipation. I suspect shares will gravitate towards sticky hands as more wait for the big rise rather than trade the dips and peaks. Who wishes they’d bought more at 5p? Me for one!

Well there seems to have been a jump again in the number of shares traded today. I guess people realising the gain so far this week and others keen to get in while still single figures. It does feel like a ticking bomb that could go off any second. I thought it might push up to around 10p before the week is out but it seems that it’s settling at 8.5p atm. I suspect the first whiff of an RNS will trigger another sudden leap, we must be due an update soon.

Not until there is some positive news it won’t. The tension is building hence the price pushing higher

Well a 20% increase from the opening price so far today, where will it be by the end of the week eh? I have a feeling this will settle back to the Dec ‘24 position ahead of any further news so I’m expecting 10p or thereabouts by Friday

I’d expect that with any good news we will see a step change in SP that will trigger some profit taking and bring more shares back on the market. Hopefully then some bigger players will step in and trigger a further surge in SP. Well, I hope so as I’m pretty much all in.

We’ve had 8 RNSs this year I think so probably due an update before the end of the month. Any whiff of good news will trigger another surge in SP, there’s tension building it would seem looking at the trades today.

Thanks, I’d gathered that from other replies. I’d simply noted that other posters were referring to a small freefloat which indicated to me that it was a more understood number than it is. I will try to move on from asking daft questions but please try to bear with me, it wasn’t my intention to come on here and throw abuse but I didn’t expect someone to jump down my throat and accuse me of being someone else.

sorry but you’ve got the wrong person and you can’t claim your £5! i freely admit to having limited understanding of market mechanics. i’m a retired engineer fiddling with a small pot of pension shares and i’ve posted on here half a dozen times since my first a week or two back. i’m asking genuine questions because i’m interested, i have no interest in trying to ramp or de-ramp whatever that actually is, and was simply trying to understand the concept of freefloat. so thanks for all your help silver****e!

Who is talking gibberish? OK so there has been one trade at 172k this morning, so that means I’m wet behind the ears?! I thought this was a ‘Chat Forum’ so I joined for a chat and share my interest and excitement in the prospect of a really good investment. Sorry if I’ve touched a nerve but do try and be civil!

My interest is simply trying to understand how many are investing and how many are simply day trading an opportunity. The biggest trade I’ve seen is just 150k shares and most trades are small. I understand that there won’t be any institutional investors as it’s too early for them, but how many are like me. I bought a handful, then after reading in more depth and seeing a dip I bought more, and then couldn’t resist another nibble. I’m sure there are a good number who see this as a lottery ticket with ridiculously good odds, that’s what it seems like to me!

Right, gotcha, mine are with HL who are also on the list. So, actually, the comments on the board about freefloat are meaningless then?!

So you’d assume from that that 55% of the shares are in the hands of just 7 groups. I have been slowly accumulating shares on the basis that they will all get gobbled up the minute there is good news!

Right, so do we know the percentage of the 97m shares issued are publicly traded? I’m assuming that the £2.5m invested by the directors would have bought 16m of the 97m so there are 80m or so up for grabs? Or do I have that completely wrong?

So can someone tell me how much free-float there is? Looking back at the trading charts the highest single day volume trade has been 9m shares or 10%. Since then the volumes have tumbled and typically 1m-2m are changing hands daily. So effectively 1%-2%. This seems to indicate that the free-float is diminishing as more holders choose to hang on in anticipation of an uptick in SP. I don’t normally trade stocks outside the FTSE100 as I’m generally risk averse with my portfolio but this does look too good not to have something in it. I’m thinking that diminishing free-float is a positive indicator in such circumstances but would be interested to hear the thoughts of others on here.
