I recently read the Oak Securities assessment of GEX and noted that their risked target of 124p was based on a Geological Chance of Success at just 15%-16%. This strikes me as rather conservative given the commercial CoS assessment of 50%+ providing an overall number of 8%. I’m no analyst by any stretch but this does seem to me to be overly cautious. The bottom line for me is really ‘do they have what they think they have’? If they do we’re all popping the champagne corks, if not we’ll be crying in our beer.

Well it’s starting to look like 16p is coming closer. A little lift again today without an RNS and we’re overdue some form of update even if there is nothing new to announce. I can see this hitting 10p on anticipation alone, lots more trades today presumably some cashing in recent gains and others investing their ISA allowance. On quiet days the SP drops back and rises when the trading increases so a bit of extra activity is a welcome boost atm.

We’re all holding for positive news for this to rocket. Check out some older postings, this is a fully funded well re-entry venture planning to sell at the wellhead to sidestep the need for further investment at this stage. Loads of other organisations with off-take capacity so no need for pointless duplication. A big RNS is pending (maybe slightly overdue), should see this heading for the broker note target of £1.23 shortly.

Lots more trade today and a good deal of sells, people taking the 50% up-lift over a week, not to be scoffed at but I’d rather hang on for the main course!

I assume you are referring to different broker platforms, I hadn’t appreciated (being somewhat of an amateur here) that the spread varied from the market quoted. I trade through HL only. Whatever, it’s interesting to see that the situation here is poised to move up at the merest sniff of news.

Definitely more going on today. Trade looks like getting up towards 3m again and a small lift in SP. Happy to watch this drift up on the back of anticipation of news. Gives me something positive to watch while the rest of my portfolio is sliding the wrong way at a rate of knots. Hoping the crisis will peter out soon and we see some sort of stability, Trump really has upset the apple cart.

It’s just the new £20k ISA investment opportunity. Where else would you put your money at the moment?

I hadn’t expected to see a dip today, I hardly expected to see any trading either. I thought we’d see more on Monday when people look to invest the £20k ISA allowance. It would seem that the general malaise that has taken the markets since the tariff announcement has spread to all corners with even stocks seemingly immune seeing dips, just because! Oh well, make the most of it today. Monday will see more trading and a small uplift in SP I anticipate. Then when we get some news……..

Well I expect a flurry of buys as people look to utilise their £20k ISA allowance, providing there are enough shares to go around. Volume has been just a few 100k daily this week, we may see a SP uplift if demand exceeds supply

Yeah, three weeks now with no news! Nothing more to do than enjoy the fine spring weather and be patient.

The new ISA window opening will be a big draw for many. This stock needs the protection afforded by an ISA, just buying in a stocks and share account will gobble up your income and capital gains tax allowances with any real movement. £20k of GEX in an ISA could set you up for life!

Even small buys are tricky when the SP starts to rise. I tried for 100k shares and had to buy in two 50k tranches in the end. Any large investor is going to be looking at 10x that size of trade at the very least, there just aren’t the shares available to buy. A typical day sees 1m-3m shares traded in total, check out the charts.

So clearly there is a ready market for someone who finds and taps a new reserve. Let’s hope GEX is at the party!

Well that was an unremarkable day to start the new month. Very little by way of volume and the SP drifting back below 8p at the close. Is this the quiet before the storm?

Well I have to say the chartists seem to be no more credible in their approach than your average horoscope. Having briefly mentioned a confused jumble of lines from last week he then points vaguely into the white space on the graph and settles on 14p-16p. I’m sure it will pass through that price range sometime soon in the same way a stopped clock is right twice a day! The upside potential here is indeed, huge. However, the market will simply drift on speculation until we get some solid news. I know we are all keen as mustard to see this happen but patience will be rewarded I’m sure.

I wasn’t expecting this dip, I thought trading had run dry yesterday, maybe a few getting cold feet and taking a small profit at the end of the week. Lots of red this morning, just bought again, it’s becoming a bit of a habit!

Well just looking at the drop in trades that saw a significant bias to buys yesterday and far fewer and pretty even today, suggests to me that there aren’t the number of shares available to accommodate a flurry of buys. Try buying 10+k and you might find the order can’t be filled, it happened to me earlier today. Get in now while you can and hold tight.

It certainly looks like a quiet day today. We won’t see 4m shares traded and the SP has stabilised.
