i suspect there is a government website where all of these things are accessible but in reality the America permit was an independent and might have different requirements but in reality i was relieved to only see one permit RNS as it is best to space things out and keep up some momentum and let each stage sink into the mindset as often if too much is released at one time investors often lose sight of all the details and the meaning of this. Certainly the end of day outcome for IAG after news yesterday was almost predictable although the Gilead and other newsflows cant have hurt it today. Plenty more positive newsflow now in motion so i can certainly see IAG getting a toe in at £2.60 in the near future and then we are going to need to more newsflow on treatment or airline actions of how they are coming out of lockdown. With more positive newsflow could reach £3.

A little bit of chop at 32p but Condor barely blinked and now onwards to 34p and beyond. Could be a closing price nearer the 40s as word spreads and smart money jumps in for the upcoming newsflow.

Been many a years and most on here have got in rather early doors, me included to a lesser extent, but we are truly letting those brakes off and in front of us is a glorious downhill that will pick up some pace in decisions and newsflow. Goodbye 30s will be a happy day and mr market might recognise a near term gold producer with $1bn permitted gold extraction for a nibble over £28m market cap today. And the $1bn is only scratching at the possible gold district. I hope all shareholders will finally all come good this year as i sense things will get quite exciting.

Cut fast cut deep is always a good strategy. being one of the first airlines to talk serious shop talk shows that IAG are not still caught in the headlamps. They are ahead of the curve on strategy and that will definately be a medium and long-term strategy. i think there is also a big smack of politics to perhaps force the government to remember airlines cant leave planes on the runway indefinitely. This is positive on many fronts for shareholders. I would see this a positive by the end of tomorrow.

With no current focus on these 100% owned concessions it probably makes sense to tidy them up for sale as it would be an opportune to do so? we got $600k for a tiny concession with barely any work done to Mako mining but both Rio Luna and Estrella have plenty of sunk cash in resource estimates and are far larger so should be worth a fair few million. Cant see Condor focusing on these so makes sense to sell off all non core prospects to those who will sink cash and make something of it or do a deal to keep some skin in the game.

Well job cuts are music to the ears of investors, while of course depressing in the wider sense. Making a strong message of redundancy is a good move now and will impress investors as IAG has generated in excess of £10bn profits over last 10 years and will have plenty of fat. Cutting back some of that excess is smart move once furlough is over. on top of that they have undrawn funds of €9.5 billion at the end of March, including €6.95 billion of cash. Personally this will probably impress investors tomorrow.

Looks to me there is around 100k left of shares up for grabs for 25.4p based on dummy orders before this seller possibly moves on. Hopefully the last top-up before newsflow picks up a steadier head of steam.

The only thing that will hold stocks back will be relapses of covid death cases in european countries opening up again. If numbers keep falling its over for now and prices will continue to rise. The more time elapses the more chance we find a treatment and vaccine so i am erring that stocks will contine to rise in the absence of evidence of a second wave.

The wide spread has mystified me a little recently but with a largish seller in the midsts possibly the market maker is maximising the spread profit so lets hope the spread narrows as 10% is not on. however as i hope you can argue with topping up sub 30p

Great article showing British Airways amassed a £10bn profit over 10 years vs a £200m loss for Virgin Atlantic and really lays it bare. If Virgin go to the wall or struggles through BA will come out of this much stronger and BA had some of the best profits and margins in the world. Could IAG take advantage and buy up failing airlines to increase its global grip?

All the news is stating individuals before getting on a plane will have had a covid19 test done. Emirates does at the airport on demand already. Therefore the middle seat idea was simply to pander to the early flights given an expected slow restart. However i am not so sure. I know of dozens of people who all have not seen family abroad since start of year so there is pent up demand, same for business. Wizzair are looking to capitalise on that demand and while you can cant disagree with people working in the industry talking 2 years to get back to pre covid you also need to factor in several airlines already bust and airlines mothballing planes permanently so already supply of planes is lower, and not forgetting many airbus orders postponed and canceled. i dont see people not planning to travel again so i think a combination of lower supply will balance out the drop in demand more than people expect. Obviously all very depressing that until that treatment or vaccine is done and dusted there will be silly nonsense around testing and face masks but treatment but surely be close and all this nonsense will slip away into memory.

While a lot of airlines are gearing up for restart of services wizzair is starting next week and suspect will be limited but it looks things are moving in the right direction.

Tourism hotspots are also now clamouring and under pressure to reduce restrictions to allow tourists to arrive for summer. Internal tourists from may/june and all other countries july/august with basic testing being done prior to takeoff. Things are coming together more quickly than expected.

I think as Nigel points out in relation to bonds people should focus on defaults and he reports they have had none by any bond so that is largely the key question and he states only 2% in travel, leisure. In the meantime he points to massive gains in winning new major contracts and to future profitability. With Covid this was increase considerably in favour of L&G. Ultimately insurers have a mixed basket on bonds and investments but plenty of decent companies have debt considered BBB or junk for other reasons but the key is they have to pay top returns.

Wow if every recent Ops update for the future was like this. This is a diamond in the rough with confident future plans. Really goes to show L&G have a great long-term strategy and will pay dividends for all. This will not be held back over coming weeks. Definitely a keeper in the current turbulence.

Drop will be on opening instantly but assuming FTSE opens positively i suspect investors will take advantage of the drop and we could well recover back to around £2 by end of day. However if FTSE is having a bad hair day those investors waiting to buy might hold out. As it stands Nasdaq closed well after UK closed so omens look ok for tomorrow. We will see how day unfolds.

Some information that Spain airports have a 3 point plan and flights domestically could begin as soon as May 10th. This relates to Iberia who apparently are taking bookings from May 10th for certain routes. Government have not said anything but airports are putting in the planning.

Notable that Admiral shot up today on the basis that it is set to have a bumper profit due to a massive drop in claims for car accidents. While i have not analysed all of Legal and General insurance policies it would be interesting for the company to give an update to trading and the different benefits of the lockdown or not to different insurance policies. For example given no one is going on holiday its travel insurance should show minimal claims, assuming it had the pandemic clauses in its policy as i think is normal so while they might not sell many policies they might well benefit from a drop in claims. Also i suspect a lot more companies will be looking to offload workplace pensions so L&G should benefit from that.

have to also remember that many investors are actually holding back buying into LGEN until the ex dividend day as they are more interested in capital growth than dividend. The share will drop around 10p on the morning of the ex-dividend date and probably regain that dividend quite quickly on the day or following days , especially if it coincides with a positive day. the fact LGEN has honoured its investors when others have pulled the carpet LGEN has been rewarded for that and will continue to do so. With a dividend closing in on 8% a year that is a good return and that may well continue if most of its profitability comes from the annuity and pension side of the business.
