A new cancer therapy that targets a "shield" that protects tumors from the immune system has surprised scientists by causing all trial participants to go into complete remission, representing what is claimed to be the first time such success has been found. The therapy prevented participants with advanced rectal cancer from needing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery to remove large parts of their colon, changing – and possibly saving – their lives.

“I believe this is the first time this has happened in the history of cancer,” said Dr Diaz, author of the paper and Head of the Division of Solid Tumor Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, reports the New York Times.

The results were published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Just been a short item on Morning TV on ITV saying a trial on 16 people in USA had seen a 100% success rate with all 16 in remission. Didn’t catch the name of the product. Did anyone else see it? Would that be good or bad news for us?

So let’s be even more conservative and say profit to BOR of $200,000 per day which translates to £50 million pa. At a conservative industry PE of 8 that gives us a market cap of 400 million and a share price of around 60p .. happy with that .. and that just the beginning!!

If there are any “oilies” there is it possible to do a fag packet calculation of estimated net profit per annum from just 3 wells say based on price of oil of say $90 per barrel? I realise a lot of variable in play but would be interested to know!

Slightly off topic but there are wise investors on here and I am puzzled as to how the FTSE is so resilient given such big negatives like the war and inflation!?

It will be interesting to see how the OM decision and Navitas plans at RKH play into the BOR share price. If there is forward momentum on both FI developments which is quite likely in next 4 months that could be a catalyst for a spectacular re rating on BOR.

Not sure why the final results were delayed for so long based on the information that finally appeared in the Accounts?!

Almost warrants an RNS in itself! Pretty reasonable now to assume there is something significant “post Balance Sheet date” is holding things up! Odds are in favour of it being something good with all the stars appearing to align at the moment!

I’d take 50p for sure Gus0! A market cap of just over 300 million would not be out of order for a company that has discovered resources once we know FID is going ahead. If anything it represents a large undervaluation in that case but 50p to close it out at any point would be great. My average buy in is 2p so it would be a x25 gain .. fantastic!!

Don’t get me going on this Mason. I despair now as to whether we will ever see a country where people are encouraged or able to stand on their own 2 feet without government support. I’m not talking about the genuinely needy for whom there must always be a safety net from government but the great lump of lazy individuals who can’t be bothered or don’t need to do a full working week because they get handouts. Working Tax Credits sums it up for me people being supported by government to work a short working week. Introduced by that buffoon Gordon Brown and meant to cost 4 billion a year now costs 40 billion even though we have full employment and loads of job vacancies people are still being supported to work part time.
Another thing 50% of people in this country are overweight .. so there is a start for dealing with food price inflation .. reduce your calorie intake from 3,500 calories a day to 2,500 calories and save 28.5% on your food bill.

Billion market cap is about £13 per share so old 26p would be quite something and based on other deals out there recently certainly not an impossible dream!

Similar position to you Cobalt retired and looking for life enhancing money not life changing! Already on a free ride after selling about 1/5 at around 7p last year. Will sell a bit more (probably 1/4) at £4 (old 8p) then hold rest for Thoths fabled £14 (old 28p). Would be very happy if I got that! Might just keep 10% back for £50 (old £1) just in case!!

Thank you GRH and Wraith for your welcoming words. Now that I have managed to semi retire down to 2 days a week I have the time do what I’ve always wanted to do which is to play around on the stock market. I have 90% of my money invested in safe high yielding stocks primarily investment trusts and 10% is fun money in penny shares with great potential to do something spectacular (10 bag +) across oil and gas, mining, pharmaceutical research, IT etc. Reading the chat boards on LSE gets more interesting with each extra addition to the 10% fun pot!

Have decided to have a punt with PRD on the recommendation of a chum. People may wish to sell immediately because of my record of disasters with Rockhopper, Borders, Tower Resources, Tethys and Parkmead. At least I had Dana so hope PRD will be my next Dana?!!

I agree Anth it has got a bit tedious the last 2 weeks since that afternoon when we hit 7p. Decided whilst waiting for RKH and BOR to announce next bit of exciting news (and one will spark the other for sure) to have a punt on Predator Oil too!
