I have had to reply for Probate a few times and it is an infuriating process. The application goes in and you wait 8 weeks for the Probate Office to look at it! They find something they are not sure about or ask for further information and it’s another 6 weeks till they look at it again. Then another query and another 6 weeks. It’s farcical. And this is when no inheritance tax is payable. If tax is payable it can be 2 or 3 times as long as HMRC stick their nose in too! God I hope SAR won’t be as bad as this!

What happens if everyone holds tight and no-one sells in the morning …. ?

Hi Lazarus .. as you know I’m one of those losers in all of RKH, GGP and BOIL but luckily still up on SAR!
My pensions and investment portfolios are currently 20% cash, 65% high yielding shares and investment trusts (to provide my pension income) and 15% high risk stuff like the above 4 shares plus others. The high risk stuff is “for fun” money so looks like “fun” will be curtailed for a while now!!!
Started to get nervous watching SAR a few weeks ago and now I know why!

With the experienced senior execs and non execs on board I’m staggered they might have got some details or procedures wrong .. what are these guys being paid for if it’s not to get details right?

The key words in the RNS seem to be “non clinical data”; so nothing has failed clinically but someone has got some details or procedures wrong. It’s a mystery though why it has taken them so long to tell SAR.
Also why on earth issue an RNS at 5.25pm rather than at 7am .. would have thought they could have spent some time overnight carefully assessing things first.

Christ .. what a crushing disappointment. My wife has just asked what I want for supper and I said Imodium! A real sickener .. maybe a temporary disappointment but certainly will not be tempted to top up tomorrow at less than £1; have made that mistake so many times before. In last few days we had ordered state of the art OLed TV and booked a holiday in the Caribbean in March .. so have decided to cancel both to cover the likely loss tomorrow..we’ll find a beach in Bognor and a little LED TV instead! Hey ho .. that’s the bloody AIM for you.

If Groverlad is a good stock picker I’m even better .. BOIL (in at .035!!), GGP (in at .13), RKH (in at .60). Thank god for SAR (in at 1p old money and 1/3 sold last August at 7p).
A formerly wealthy friend of mine once asked rhetorically “how do you make a small fortune” to which he answered himself “spend a large one”! He inherited serious money in his early 40’s and has now successfully frittered most of it away but still enjoys the warm glow of memories he made along the way!

Great to see the ringing endorsement from MF; was a bit concerned when they said it might be a good time to buy but relieved to read on and see it doesn’t appeal to MF! That would make it a strong buy for me although I’m probably too deep in already!!

For my sins I am invested in Shell, BP, Parkmead, Predator Oil, Thethys, Tower, Rockhopper, Borders and Southern, Baron Oil .. anyone think any of these are going up any time soon and are there any dogs I have missed out on .. and does anyone have any hot tips I should consider going forward..?!!!

Why are we burdened with so many naysayers here? I wish they would take their captious views elsewhere now .. we don’t need this bunch of Debbie Downers blighting our daily visits to this BB .. it’s just tedious now.If you have shares why talk them down all the time .. if you don’t have shares then please go away. I’ve been here since 2010 sitting on a large loss but still hopeful that with help from Navitas we will get there eventually which would be great for everyone .. but stop whining on please.

I got swept away by the excitement on Baron a couple of weeks ago and bought in at just over 0.03! I can’t remember ever buying a share that bombed so quickly. Consoled by fact I do not have to sell and remain optimistic great multiple news is just around the corner.

I reckon the FID to go ahead with Sea Lion will happen before this farce is resolved in which case the resolution of the case is really just a side show. Once the FID is made the share price will be several multiples of 10p. The solicitors will be cheesed off because they will have a long wait for their money now!

Geo .. The graph of global warming over last 100 years almost exactly mirrors the graph of population growth. Therein lies the real problem .. overpopulation .. back to Malthus!! Don’t know how you control population growth though!!!

I’d say the demand for oil and gas is likely to be there for another 30-50 years .. not least to fuel the power stations that will generate the electricity!

Cars these days produce much lower emissions anyway .. more pollution comes from car tyres I’ve read!

Bang on Nastynick .. Main producers of CO2 are Oceans 330 billion tonnes a year
Plants and animals 220 billion tonnes
Soil respiration 220 billion tonnes
Human activity 38 billion (of which 33 billion is use of fossil fuels, 3 billion is land use changes and 2 billion industrial processes).
However in spite of these numbers apparently human activity has tipped the balance and caused climate change. Sorry just not convinced. The planet is far more powerful and adaptable than the people on it and the planet will readjust in due course and far more effectively than human beings.
As far as I am concerned fossil fuels were created by the planet for us to use and we should use them.
Stuart Kirk at HSBC talked alot of sense advising against trashing world economies in response to climate change but he got sacked for his wisdom.

The U.K. contributes around 5% of human produced CO2 so it really doesn’t matter what we do unless China,India, Russia etc all act as well. However we CAN protect ourselves and stopping any house building NOW within 10 foot of sea level will help here. Then the World has to look at ways to help around the world at risk. I’m not convinced that mankind will actually have the will or the ability to control the climate in such a way that it will make much difference so we have to hope the planet can find a way to correct itself.
