Ahh the Hammers .. great old football club .. but wasn’t so happy sitting behind the goal in 1995 as a brilliant Miklosko kept my beloved United out so Blackburn could win the league!!!

This shows the number importance of balanced portfolios. I split between high risk (usually about 10%) high yielding FTSE 100 shares or Investment Trusts (usually about 70%) and cash (around 20%) .. my AIM stuff has been savaged over last 2-3 months but the FTSE stocks have been quite strong and more than compensated. AIM stuff is a lot more fun but horrible at time like this

Sadly it’s down down deeper and down….Only consolation now is that most of the losses have been suffered and we can’t lose much more money on this!
So sad BUT I’m still sure a wowzer of an RNS will come along at some point to lift our spirits and this nerve racking phase will be a distant memory.

I have certainly learned a lesson now once and forever that on AIM you must take a profit when you can to cover your cost on any spike. I did it in 1999 during the dot com boom and profited handsomely, and did it again last year on SAR but too many times in between I’ve made stupid decisions not to to sell when I could.

Any thoughts on share price should we get the good news that CTA approval has been given? £2 to £2.50 would be my estimate. Be great to shake off the gloom and uncertainty and return to optimism and excitement !!

Got sucked into BOIL a few weeks ago when the excitement was at fever pitch .. paid just over 30p. What an idiot!

I’m not on Twitter but didn’t Stephen Parker tweet something about imminent CTA approval a few weeks ago possibly after the normal 30/60 day deadlines for CTA approvals had already passed in which case it was a bit premature and unprofessional? Possibly my recollection is not quite right but just something sitting at the back of my mind?!

All the Directors except John Reader are in their 60’s so the last thing they will want if they want to make and enjoy their fortunes is unnecessary delays .. sure they will be as frustrated and annoyed as us. Dealing with government bodies is never easy and can drive you mad .. it took me over 10 years to get approval to supply the NHS with curtain fabrics even though our products were better and cheaper than their existing suppliers .. multiply that kind of stupidity and stubbornness across all government departments and you can quickly see why so much money is wasted and why just pumping money into the public sector is pointless.

You are absolutely spot on Lutonnews and that is a lesson I have been too slow to learn. Thankfully when SAR took off last year I had already lost out on several missed opportunities on too many AIM shares so I had learned to have plan to take profits. AIM shares by nature are volatile which is good and bad. Good because there will often be good opportunities to cash in on significant profits on spikes but bad because they can quickly drop like a stone! I think now if an AIM share trebles in value compared with original cost then I will sell a third which means I am on a free ride. If it trebles again sell another third etc .. you may not make an absolute fortune this way (which rarely happens anyway) but at least you won’t miss out n a jolly good return.

Mattyboy, interesting and honest feedback thank you! Fingers crossed on SAR and GGP as we are both in the same boat there (I have a big interest in the Falklands and other AIM oilies too).
I have always tried to achieve what I call a champagne life style on ginger beer money but even the ginger beer has gone a bit flat in 2022! So our planned 3 weeks in the Caribbean next March has now been cancelled and replaced by 2 weeks in Lanzarote for 1/3 of the cost but still something to look forward to ( first world problems and all that!).

Once the CTA s approved(I’m hoping we will be in the 95% that are approved eventually) any guesses on the reaction of the share price ..

Crikey Mattyboy you’ve got a strong nerve putting money like that in .. or deep pockets courtesy of dad and great grandad! Hope it comes good for you! As I said the other day I have 15% of my shares in AIM stuff but you still feel the discomfort when a share drops like this. However it will make the next ascent, when it happens, even more enjoyable!

Crikey we’ve got Stephen Parker, Michael Owen, Harry Finch and Bob Jackson on board with decades of experience in Pharma and biotech. Bob Jackson alone has led teams that have developed 26 compounds to clinical trial. It would be surprising with that level of experience if a “major” **** up has occurred in the submission; hopefully it’s a minor issue that can be resolved quickly. Clive Birch however is in the clear .. he’s only an accountant (like me!)

Any odds on an after hours RNS again tonight? Why so many price monitoring RNS today? It dropped like a stone initially but movement has been more restrained after that. Any odds on a tweet from Sparker? Sorry my optimistic 1.20 close was indeed optimistic ..

If we could finish around 1.20 today after yesterday evening’s news that would be a pleasant surprise.

As I mentioned yesterday just like Probate Bobbler! You think they’ve got all they need and then they ask for more and you wait another 6 unnecessary weeks!!

A sea of blue buys at the moment .. where are the shares coming from if no-one is selling?!
