Assuming shares not bought and sold on same day and not bought and sold within 30 days then all the SAR share purchases would be treated as a S104 holding and you would use the average price paid for all shares. See HMRC guide 284 re shares and CGT

That’s pretty much exactly my plan
20% went at 4.2 which gives me a free ride
Another 20% will go at 8p next 20% at 18p next 20% at the much vaunted 28p the rest will hold for a £1
Be very very happy if I got anywhere near that!!

I had a friend up in Manchester many years ago who I used to go to football with and he unbelievably won the football pools twice; without getting too far ahead of the game beginning to understand a little bit how he might have felt!! Having been here so long like so many others was always hopeful but never really expected a rise like this. Just need to get the exit timing right.

Crikey he’s already made 276,000 on that wow .. money begats money!! What does he/she know that we would love to hear?!!!

If it’s accumulation towards a takeover then they must be close to 3% by now in case would they need to disclose?

To be honest I’m baffled by what is driving this up like this. I understand the potential of the products we have but not the practicalities of what is making the share price move like this? Is it private investors buying, institutions buying or MMs driving it. Be interested to understand the mechanics of it.

Margaux 2011 is a splendid vintage happily join you for that! Had a very amusing episode a couple of years ago at a drinks party by the river close to our home. A very patronising elderly man was chatting to my wife about wine and she mentioned to him we had a couple of very nice bottles of Petrus at home; he exclaimed pompously that was most unlikely! My wife called me over to check which wines we currently had and sensing the situation l told the guy we had some fabulous Bordeau wines including Lafite, Margaux, Pauillac, Petrus and a variety of St Emilion Grand Cru wines. He was aghast and said to my wife “what do I have to do to be invited round to your house?” Without batting an eyelid she delivered the perfect word reply … “apologise!” …rendering him speechless! Priceless!!

My disaster was Falklands Oil and Rockhopper which was so frustrating because their drills were successful and they found the oil! Problem was price of oil and demand fell so no final decision was made to proceed to production. May still happen if we see a LT rise in oil prices but who knows. However SAR has now more than made up for those losses just need to time gradual exit carefully.

There is always lots of uncertainty on AIM and if this was a dead cert then everyone would be in so never a bad idea to retain a bit of caution .. but then I am habitually a bit cautious (the accountant in me sadly!)

Is there not a danger that a lot of potential good news is now already priced in and when the news drops then the price may drop too as often happens? The cautious part of me hopes for a takeover at a decent price of say 25p to take all that tension out!

These regulatory authorities are little more than a damp squib! Mainly under resourced and under staffed. I recently sold a small accountancy practice after building it up to 300 clients over 7 years and did not get a single investigation or compliance review from HMRC during that whole period! Re stock market regulation we used to hold shares in a company called Winchester Entertainments in which a main board director(s) sold shares immediately before a profit warning which then destroyed the share price and soon after which the company closed and there was nothing we could do about it .. was really shocked at the time but a bit longer in the tooth now.

Strange that a share which has almost doubled in a month in such a high profile and important sector has received so little coverage in the press either generally or in the financial sections of the papers?
