I will try and verify my sources and never knowingly post fake news. There is a lot of that circulating.

There are some worrying news items circulating. I searched for something similar to the title, I don't think it is a good idea to post links to anything to help, IMO, minimize any potential threat. That approach can do no harm.

There may be some other way of monitoring drivers which emerges and I hope Seeing Machines are quick enough to adapt if that happens.

I have been reading about some of the existing opposition and there is stiff competition out there.

Also, a completely new business could emerge with a better plan at any moment.

There is no reason for Seeing Machines not to pursue opportunities to diversify away from automotive in case things don't work out as well as hoped.

There are many other applications for this technology and others are pursuing those and taking market share in automotive.

So, it makes good sense to look at as many other possibilities as possible.

I wonder if the revelationary, is that a real word, news on Microsoft's tax affairs might cause some queries from any other authority's tax investigators? I know not to add any further un-necessary speculation but if I fell behind on my tax payments by that figure there would likely be some form of regulatory INQuiry in one or more jurisdictions.

For anyone that hasn't been following this forum closely since the strikes started, I am referring to the UAW strike actions against Ford, General Motors and Stellantis.

Workers at Mack Trucks started their strike action unexpectedly at some time last weekend.

What if a prospective vehicle buyer visits this site and asks a question on a different thread, for instance a forum here to discuss vehicle sales, not to mention which one. then is directed here by someone helpful?

What if someone joins in this discussion and is a Seeing Machines shareholder and doesn't agree with some of the arguments put forward by some members either in support of the investment case or against it?

..and, a question for anyone else here. -

Would it be better to have as clear an understanding of any vehicle safety system as possible for any vehicle You may be thinking of buying? Would you prefer to have that understanding before you view the vehicle or pick up a brochure on arrival at the showroom and then ask the sales staff? How long a test drive would you prefer and do you think it is a good idea to discuss complicated matters to do with road safety while driving?

That was more than one question, I do not need to explain why.

Maybe another way can be found? It would, IMO, be awful for any hacktivists if they, or their business plan, were tricked into infiltrating the wrong thing. That 'thing' could be packed full of the wrong information and appear welcoming and/or un-protected for some reason?

I think that is about right, 80% of good UK technology firms do get taken over.

There have been developments recently in control systems for computer monitors involving the human eye and blinking.

There may be other opportunities but I could perhaps do better suggesting them elsewhere.

One of the points here is the mention of the ''first foray into Japan''.

There was a recent post on this forum that listed Nissan and Toyota as being among OEMs that Seeing Machines are working with.

I think greater clarity from Seeing Machines would help.

Looking at that again,

I think this indicates that a lot more testing needs to be carried out by professional test drivers and ideally qualifies driver examiners, as I have said before.

14 Billion kilometres, is that the mileage with the DMS fully activated?

17 Million distraction events doesn't seem very many, maybe the drivers were very good at staying attentive?

There are some reports circulating that drivers are switching driver assist and/or monitoring systems off.

I will post further details when I find out more but for now the article on Autocar website is a good read.

If the figures are correct and there is no definite reason to assume otherwise, except for false positive detections then there is one distraction event detected every 823.5 kilometres.

That is good news that testing these systems has begun.

Rigorous testing must be carried out before these systems are put into widespread use.

There is some early indication that some changes may be needed to some of these driver assist and/or monitoring systems. The testing should be carried out as soon as possible to minimize the number of vehicles affected.

Take the example of Transport for London testing. This is expected to take 12 to 18 months.

I am sure the systems they are testing will not be fully introduced until TfL are absolutely certain there are no potential problems.

There must be zero margin of error allowed during any vehicle safety system testing.

The Online Safety Bill is about to be fully passed into law.

This is almost certain to dominate worldwide news over a long period and potentially become one of the most discussed topics on social media. Quite rirghtly too.

The public gaze will be lazer-focussed on online safety issues.

Other jurisdictions will no doubt follow the UK lead and pass their own legislation to help make the world a safer place.
