I've just listened to it again and it really is startling - I don't think I've ever heard him be as forthright in his advice to shareholders "Don't sell a single share". I've been in SOU for donkey's years and followed Malcy's coverage, he's a big fan of the stock but I've never heard anything like that. Interesting that Doc also referenced the inevitable campaign by shorts to get stock as cheaply as possible, expect it to get extremely ugly on here!

While everyone has been speculating I can announce that some detailed scientific analysis (conducted in the last 5 mins) has produced the definitive answer on the GSA. Obviously I will publish a full scientific paper next week but here is the edited version. Jan web graphic section = 28mm on my screen which is 0.9mm / day in Jan, GSA web graphic block = 22mm, 22÷0.9 = 24.4 therefore the GSA was signed between morning coffee and lunch (GMT) on Thurs 24th of Jan. The RNS was prepared on Fri and will be issued on Monday. Rumours that this totally contradicts my other theories on the GSA are already being greatly exaggerated.

Okay Mapp just don't lose it and get yourself into trouble. Like I said earlier this purely comes down to whether Zaza was batting for us in the first place. If he was there is a chance we'll come through this stronger, if there is a lengthy communications black-out then I will be very concerned. For some strange reason I feel quite relaxed, maybe it's that strange moment of euphoria you apparently experience.... just before drowning.

Well good luck with it I know it's well-intentioned but really our only hope is that Zaza is an honourable man and genuinely wants to build this company for his investors, if not we've had it. I'm praying that in his ambition to rid FRR of the bloodsuckers he underestimated the complexity of the court action and possibly the resilience of Hope. If this is another AIM story of deception it's over sadly action group or not. I know there has been some speculation about the persistent selling but logically the pattern of the sells in timing and quantity was being done by someone who wanted it to be known that there was a seller about so that gives some reassurance that it wasn't what some fear. Like many have said this is not over but we are totally at the mercy of Zaza's character.

Thanks Jack don't want to fall out with the folk with on-the-ground experience, naturally I value their opinions just don't want it getting to the level where people are intimidated to post their thoughts due to not having a professional O&G qualification! :) Hopefully we're getting into the endgame now so maybe some think there's less place for amateur theories but I hope the board doesn't lose its colour - I think we all know who the real villains are when they pop up.

Oh come off it everyone is allowed to pass the time with a theory of their own, nothing wrong with bouncing some ideas around as long as they're not cynically designed to mislead. If posters are going to be undermined for not being qualified or lacking industry experience then I'm sure there are professional forums out there where the experts won't be constantly irritated by mere investors. I also think patience is a relative quality depending on how long you've been here waiting for 12-18 months to go by.

Jag - yes that's certainly the case. We also know from hints gleaned particularly during the FSCs that JP has to progress the company so that moving to producer remains a viable option but everyone knows that's not the preferred path. Could it be that since we are in reality being prepared for sale the GSA is in fact not our job. I admit this is a long way from what we have been told and contradicts the evidence of the graphic.... but it would go a long way to explaining a year long + delay. Of course I haven't got the faintest idea let alone any experience of this situation just speculation during this hiatus!

ps. Not suggesting they could do this advance of taking the reins, or could they with some kind of MOU in place?

I brought this up at the weekend so apologies to anyone around on Sat who has already been bored by this but I wonder IF there is a scenario where big players are already cosying up to us might they not indicate to JP that they as the prospective operator would prefer to handle the GSA? Anybody know if there is an industry precedence for this (without mentioning Cove for novelty value).

The smugsters who are claiming genius due to their predictions have been proved right because of one factor alone and that is the intervention of the Minister. If he had not blocked the permits the strategic review would probably have succeeded though my instinct was always that the price would have been modest. If any of the gloaters can lead me to a post predicting that a previously unheard of minister would appear out of the blue and possibly terminally undermine AST then I would be impressed. In the meantime I would politely suggest you find a more healthy way to get your endorphin rush.

It's funny, over the years of following these boards I have become increasingly convinced that most derampers don't actually hold short positions, perhaps some in certain circumstances are looking for a better entry point, some I suspect have lost money in a stock and become obsessed with goading holders but here with FRR in suspension you can only conclude that they are gloaters, the type of people who slow down on the motorway to ogle an accident in the hope of some perverted frisson of excitement at the expense of others distress. I don't think this is over yet but by goodness I've seen the dark side of human nature here, probably not worth my potential losses but an education at least.

If I wasn't feeling so depressed about the Primary Bid thing I'd actually be quite excited about this John Buggenhagen fella, it really could be very significant. Only problem is we're pinning our hopes on a man whose Test Match Special nickname would be 'Bu*gers'!

As ever we're all speculating but my thoughts are that if one party wants to buy the gas and other wants to sell it then negotiations for a sales agreement wouldn't overrun by over a year. Now I know it's not as simple as bartering for a carpet down at the old souk but I have long wondered if our suitors have indicated that they would want a hand in the GSA. JP has to be seen to be planning for all eventualities but everyone knows that a complete sale is the preferred option. It might be as SOU investors we're never going to see a GSA and perhaps never were. Absolutely guaranteed to drop on Monday now!
