All @Johnathan does is complain it seems - 7 posts and all are negative - first it was we aren’t delivering enough, then the sales team was crap, now PR is getting criticised. Dude, it’s not even been RNS’d yet, so the fact it’s in one paper is surprising, there should be no PR prior to it being officially announced!

Fantastic news! We all expected something significant was imminent, but this puts us right in the mix for a huge slice of the Moonshot budget - it is seismic news. I expect we’ll be in double figures very soon and won’t ever look back.

@Cfds, it was initially billed as being ready by mid summer, so to have nothing before 2021 is not a ‘touch longer than anticipated’... As far as I’m concerned there was never a chance of mid summer, but it sure helped get the £48m placing away!

Looks unlikely to launch before 2021 based on the below, so wont be used to resolve the current testing problems. I’m also amazed they haven’t thought about the scale up of manufacturing before now...

In order for the product to be CE marked for consumer self-testing a "lay user study" must be carried out, which evaluates the usability of the test by lay persons to ensure that the test can be carried out successfully and safely by the consumer. This study will be carried out as soon as is practically possible and in parallel with other activities. The completed technical file covering verification, validation and the lay user study will then be submitted to Avacta's notified body for auditing and certification before direct-to-consumer product sales can commence.

Cytiva is now working with BBI Solutions to establish a scalable manufacturing process. This process involves developing methods which are different from those used in the laboratory to develop prototypes, which must work at scale to deliver a mass-produced test strip with the required performance. When this scale-up process is completed and the first pilot batch of lateral flow test devices is produced, a critical technical hurdle will have been overcome. Avacta's intention is to use the pilot batch devices for clinical validation in Q4 using patient samples. When the first pilot batch is completed successfully, it will become possible to define the timeline to clinical validation and CE marking of both the professional and consumer use products with a greater degree of certainty and the Group will then communicate that timeline to product launch to the market. In the meantime Avacta continues to support its partners in reaching pilot batch production.”

As per Twitter, confirmation that we have our first confirmed UK II in Octopus Growth Fund;

Their fund value was £44.7m and NCYT was a 2.3% holding at the end of August. This meant it was worth £1.027m to them. The price at the end of Aug was £3.02, so they held around 340k shares / 0.48% of share capital.

I'm sure they aren't the only ones, and there will be many more funds looking at taking a position after last weeks results...

@Muffster, there is simply no comparison between what's happened to SKIN today & the potential reaction to ground breaking news from NCYT next week. When SKIN hit 70p this morning it has a market cap of £114m, but they had YTD revenues of £2m and the product isn't even in BETA testing yet. Turns out it won't be ready for months & they have no idea of sensitivity / specificity - i.e. they have a long long way to go, if they ever get there. NCYT by comparison have a Mcap of £293m & had confirmed orders at 2nd June of £135m... we have multiple products & are selling in over 130 countries. If we can combine PCR fundamentals with something truly ground breaking then the current price will seem obscenely cheap...

Crikey, that comment about Covid being alive and kicking when Avacta finalise a product is disgusting, CS you should hang your head in shame. Avacta have been around for a long time and never successfully commercialised anything - so I’ll believe it when I see it. Time is running out though, if there’s nothing released by Xmas then I can’t wait to see where the share price will be.

No such problems here of course, revenues are booked and growing, Winterplex is a brilliant innovation that has far less competition than rapid Covid testing & solves a significant problem. Then there is always the chance of a wildcard coming from the AZN partnership, an antibody test to be released in the next few days, and a potentially game changing acquisition on the way.

You make your own luck, and Novacyt have done just that by getting their products to market first & ensuring they are top quality. Long may that continue.

Mis-recorded because the advertised spread is false - they are desperate to keep the price below £2.45 and have been for the past month... As in-long has already said, they will likely have large clients who want a piece before it takes off properly.

£5m of shares traded so far which is a 2020 high, and with only 55m shares in issue we have turned over nearly 5% today. So far in Q3 32m shares have been traded, which is the highest for a quarter since they listed. Price on 1st July was £1.40, so it's been healthy for the rise to have a break, but no reason at all for it not to continue to a much higher level. LOOP could be a real star performer over the next 24 month if current trends persist.

Great summary in-long, completely agree about them not wanting the share price to run away - EVERY single rise is sold into and dampened out, they’ve basically walked the price in a big circle over the last month, panicking small holders into selling to the big boys at 1.80 before conveniently shooting it back up over the past few days.

Tomorrow’s commentary will be very interesting to read, and I agree that this is as strong a hold as you could hope for over the next 6-12 months. £5 is my target, it’s been there before which clearly helps, and this time the business fundamentals can wholeheartedly back it up.

Haha, the wind up merchant has returned I see - there is nothing matter of fact about your posts at all. As usual they are a negatively biased assessment which ramble on and make inaccurate points. I find it hugely ironic that someone can criticise the Novacyt comms when you look at what has been produced by other companies in the Covid space.

Winterplex sales could eclipse first half revenues & profits by themselves - what are your thoughts on that innovative & rapidly launched product? Does it make you jealous that Novacyt can actually execute a product release in a timely manner?

@bobminor, nope every share has a set ‘normal market size’ or NMS that a market maker is obliged to offer a quote in normal circumstances via online dealing;

For NCYT it’s 5000, beyond this they don’t have to offer a live quote. If you call them up then it could be a different case though.

Ultimately it’s about maintaining an orderly market where buys can be matched against sells - if they guaranteed that you could dump £1m shares via an online dealing then this would be impossible to manage.

Where it gets frustrating is when they drop a share sharply then make it NT to buy, even at NMS.

@bobminor, I've never had a problem with NCYT on HL, liquidity is usually excellent. Of course it varies depending on the amount you are trying to sell / which share you are selling...

All very positive today, as expected given their fantastic track record of delivering on milestones. Especially interesting re. the Verici IPO, right place right time in the current environment.

You missed a 10 bagger where everyone presented you evidence on a daily basis to shownthat you were completely out of touch. Doesn’t that make you feel ridiculous?

It’s got nothing to do with buyers returning - buys have outweighed sells on most days over the past three weeks, yet the price has fallen regardless. Today’s bounce was due to a big seller clearing at the end of yesterday’s session - see the multiple delayed trades reported this morning. Now the overhang has gone the price will recover - I’d like to think we can get back to £2.4 before results on Wed.

Totally agree on how undervalued this is, and the fact current forecasts appear to grossly understate H2 performance. Not long until we find out for real & the market re-rates LOOP to the next level :)

£19m cash + £28m receivables (£26m related to June) + £15m inventories will almost certainly provide a minimum of £62m cash now, plus cash generated by sales from 1 July to present. It’s not impossible we could have £100m in the bank as of today.

This is the unexpected news IMO, alongside the Antibody test being launched this month when it was previously scheduled for Q4.
