someone paid over £160k for STX shares yesterday - reported after close.

Also c68% of shares with significant shareholders so not readily traded.

I can see this moving upwards quickly the moment there is the sniff of a US deal

agree, no real major surprises and finances were already known.

As with many STX rns they seem happy to highlight any potential negative and play down the positives, hence the reaction today.

In terms of the H2H study the intention to treat (ITT) patients should never have been included as these people didn't complete the 12 week . This appears to have been an admin error. Not only did the per protocol (PP) customers have similar levels of iron to the IV alternative this was also the case at 52 weeks.
This is a fantastic result that has been over shadowed.

Similarly some have highlighted the cash runaway position (end of Q1 2021) and suggested this will stop us getting a good us deal. Well on 31/12/19 STX had £4.1m cash and in Jan 2020 did a good deal in China. We now have £10.4m as at 30/4/20 so this should not stop us getting a good deal in the US.

In fact CEO comment below from RNS is particularly reassuring...

I've tried to avoid this BB for a bit due to all the Dan bashing.

My personal take is that an update is now required. I was relaxed in early April as the end of Q1 comment was always an estimate. Discussions with large companies is always complex and slow and Covid clearly hasn't helped.
IMHO radio silence in April was a positive as this meant discussions were on going and potentially at an advanced stage.
Also, they could have used Covid as an excuse foe delays and they didn't.
Then late April Japan went into emergency lockdown so clearly this wouldn't help.
This has now been completed so hopefully things can now be concluded ASAP.
If we get to June and the Japanese deal hasn't concluded then i think some sort of update is definitely required.
However, i'm still reasonably optimistic that a deal will be concluded

it's just jumped from c$9.5k to $9.8k , maybe we can have another crack at the $10k.

At these prices ARB is trading c40% lower than when BTC was last at $10k in Feb (5p vs 7p).

but... whilst revenues are growing this is from a very low base.

It is a loss making company that is valued at over £50m - a lot of this future profit is already in the share price.

However, for me cholesterol side of business has so much upside - could one day replace statins as the go to for people with high cholesterol

Standard iron tablets are cheap but poorly absorbed so have limited benefit, but Feraccru is not a salt based formula and clinical studies have demonstrated that the absorption level is much higher , in fact non inferior to the IV, which is the 'go to' solution for anyone with severe iron deficiencies. There are also minimal side effects.
So effectively the difference between IV and Feraccru , as described by the CEO, is that is a person struggles to maintain healthy iron levels it is as if they have a bucket with a small whole in the bottom. IV tops the bucket up to the top but then it slowly drains away over the next few weeks etc, whereas a daily tablet gentle tops it up and keeps the level high and healthy

It was between 30/6 and 31/12/19, not 2020 and would have included CAD too.
GBP did get stronger around year end so that may have had an impact

or IMM type RNS similar today. They have a phase 2 drug that is being looked at around covid - so years to market, yet up 50%

Idiot i wrote about response from company a week or so ago re accounts.
They did say many of these costs were one off and they will change how these are reported going forward.

A couple of other points - Consultancy fees is used to pay Board so these costs won't go away. Ex CEO Edwards got £343k via this route and Wall got £216k. Hopefully these fees will go down a little in 2020 but they will not go away.

Also 2 big adjustments that pushed ARB into a loss rather than a profit were:
FX adjustment - in H2 this was over £1m - guessing this is GBP/USD/CAD adjustments and GBP went on a brexit run late last year
BTC price movement - think we hold over £1m in coins. In H2 price dropped from c $10k to $7k so a c400k loss was made on these holdings.
Between these 2 H2 'loss' was c£1.4m.
In 2020 BTC price is up c25% and GBP quite weak v USD so at H1 i would expect both to show a positive adjustment

sorry maths wrong - 1,000 new machines added to 17,000 we already have. so assume 10% least efficient older machines turned off and c6% new ones added.
Ultimately means ARB mining is even more energy efficient though.

Also assume any older machines got switched off at halving - only about 10% i think from CEO comments.
So effectively 10% older machines discontinued and 10% new and ultra efficient ones come onboard means the mining efficiency should improve by more than 10%.
BTC now c$9,100 which is nice to see too

yes, i still thin the share price is too closely aligned to BTC price, so personally i was hoping it would stay above $10k a coin as at this level it seems to create a level of confidence in the market.
I don't think we can worry about other companies - just do what we are doing and hopefully the rest will take care of itself.
If miners drop out and hash rate improves then surely some of those miners will re-enter the market.
Just a quick update. With BTC prices better in May before halving those 11 days had an average BTC price of c$9,150 (the average in April was c$7,200).
So this 25% plus increase should see mining margin for those 11 days be well over 50%, possibly 60%, and based on 11 coins mined per day should have generated revenues of c$1.1m and a gross profit of c$600k.
So even if mining levels reduce for the rest of the month May figures should still be decent

trill - it was the net and gross margin element i was correcting. If we had such a high net margin SKIN would be massively profitable now, and it is not. As you say it is building revenues and profit will follow. No need to ramp
