The Bloomberg article is good, except that this bit may get misinterpreted :

"The company previously partnered with AstraZeneca Plc in 2014 to study SNG001 in severe asthma, but the trial was halted two years later after an interim analysis showed a very low number of reported severe exacerbations."

It makes it sound like SNG001 caused exacerbations! (The problem with the trial was that not enough people in the trial were affected by the sort of exacerbations that SNG001 was designed to treat.)

This makes me a little bit nervous. The tweet is probably harmless, but the last think anyone wants is something leaking that invalidates or compromises the trial.

Well I've been invested in this share since 2016, but I don't think there's anything "high level" in it - it's all in the RNSs, interviews, etc.

It's a long story but to summarise, it was basically a problem with the trial rather than the drug. Not enough of the asthma sufferers in the trial got the right sort of virus-based exacerbations to give a conclusive result.

By the time of the COPD trial there was a test for virus vs other. So they have a pool of COPD sufferers on standby. When one of them suffers an exacerbation they can be tested, and if it's a virus then they enter the trial. So far they have 109 out of a 120 target, but it's paused to make way for the COVID19 trial.

It's possible they'll return to asthma again, if they think there's a big enough market for asthma plus virus-based exacerbations.

I've asked this before, and someone here said it's well covered by patents for the inhaled formulation - can't remember details, countries etc but includes USA if I recall correctly. Anyone confirm?

Unfortunately you can't run a trial that way, and "dosing" does include the placebo.

Those volunteers on the placebo deserve our particular thanks. They're equally important to the trial, but not getting the (probable) benefit.

Only one TR1 so far. The rest must be due soon.

It's gone a bit quiet now, so maybe that was the P&D finale.

Though they haven't said "this is going to the moon" and "buyers flying in" yet, so maybe not.
