Hi NewbieRookie, thanks, but that is just a computer auto-generated article which appears from time to time for this company and others. Their simple algorithm doesn't take into account that research companies don't have an income and do burn cash, but it's all quite normal!

@Trinityman : I'm not sure it's quite a binary bet. As I understand it they're testing patients with a range of co-morbidities, so it might work for some but not others.

If it only works in a fraction of cases that's still OK of course, as a fraction of an extremely large number can still be a very large number!

Oops, got confused between LP & LFS!

I just got round to having a proper read through of today's RNS and spotted this :

"In addition, Lansdowne Partners Ltd ("Lansdowne") is a substantial shareholder in the Company holding 10 per cent. or more of the existing issued Ordinary Shares and has agreed to subscribe for 4,285,714 Placing Shares at the Issue Price, representing 10.7 per cent. of the total New Ordinary Shares."

So buying, not selling! (Yet.)

To be clear, I meant "a more realistic value based on the increased SP". I'm OK with the 35p as things stand today.

Perhaps in those circumstances common sense would prevail and they'd adjust the price for the second batch to a more realistic value.

@Wolfbag2 : Yes that's an interesting point. If (preliminary) trial results are published before the GM, and are positive, then letting people have more shares at 35p might well be voted down!

@Wolfbag2 : It doesn't work like that - how could it? If everyone was expecting a 10p drop then they'd all sell all their shares and buy back the next day!

The market prices these things in as soon as they're announced.

@NoBullhere : Remember to include the new shares when calculating the (effective) mcap!

Some IIs, funds etc will only invest in companies with mcap > £100m.

67p x 149m shares ==£100m.

People have been commenting on the £50m II threshold. With the new number of shares in issue, we now only need 67p to reach the £100m threshold!

I fear that Safetrader1 may be particularly susceptible to cabin fever.

I read that as $3 for 5 shares. Have I misunderstood?

@David1951c : A rights issue would have taken far too long. A placing makes far more sense given the urgency of our situation.
