Passenger car registrations in Germany (Jan–Jun 2025): 1,402,789 units
(–4.7% compared to the same period last year)
Despite an overall market decline, there are significant differences between manufacturers:
▶️ Volkswagen Group: –1.7% – Škoda (+4.6%) and SEAT (+0.5%) gained, while Porsche (–24.5%) dropped sharply
▶️ Stellantis: –16.6% – Opel, Fiat, and Citroën with significant losses
▶️ BMW Group: +3.6% – BMW growing solidly, Mini also slightly up
▶️ Mercedes-Benz AG: +0.1% – stable performance at prior-year level
▶️ Japanese brands: –10.4% – Toyota, Mazda, and Mitsubishi down significantly, but Lexus (+13.4%), Nissan (+4.6%), and Honda (+2.7%) showed growth
▶️ South Korea (Hyundai, Kia, KGM): –10.0% – Hyundai (–6.5%) and Kia (–16.5%) declining
▶️ Renault Group: –0.7% – Renault posted solid growth (+8.5%), while Dacia declined (–7.2%)
▶️ USA (Ford, Tesla, etc.): –14.4% – Ford gained (+3.8%), Tesla sharply down (–58.2%), Lucid small but growing (+12.3%)
▶️ China (Volvo, MG, BYD, etc.): +1.6% – BYD surged (+426%), Volvo steady (+0.4%), MG declined (–15.3%)
