I saw this Q&A from June for Gold Group which owns Rackla Metals. Even then Rackla was being referred to as GoldenHawk Resources so you would imagine things should be well advanced by now. It would be a nice appetiser before the main event and one less distraction to deal with.

Major Tom I tend to agree with you about the £200M valuation as things stand. I suspect Nick is holding out for considerably more than that though otherwise a deal would likely have already been concluded at that figure considering the multiple targets we have.

I honestly don’t see many other areas around the Kabompo Dome (outside of our licenses) which look like they have the right conditions (ie, located on the Lower Roan and near a major fault system) for a large ore body to develop. If you are looking to get a foothold in Zambian copper our licenses could be the only option…. That’s what I meant by the initial question.

Extracover, my geology knowledge is at best on par with yours but yes, I think at a simplistic level we are looking at copper enrichment as a result of very acidic brines stripping the copper from lower sedimentary rocks over large areas of the dome and depositing it higher in the sequence. From what I’ve read this movement of the fluids can happen through natural pathways through the rocks but major faulting will clearly make this easier and presumably increase the chance of large copper deposits forming.

I would recommend watching (Anglo American discovery manager) David Woods’ lecture on geology of the Copperbelt if you haven’t seen it already, it is very relevant to our licenses.

Our region of the Domes is the last to be explored and possibly the last opportunity to find a major copper mine in this area. What do we know about the mines which have already been discovered which is common to all of them?
1. All of them are on or close to the upper boundary of the Lower Roan strata.
2. All of them are on or close to major fault lines.

First thing to notice is that ARC controls at least one third of the Lower Roan boundary which is still to be fully explored. Second thing to notice is that all of our major targets fall along that Lower Roan boundary (area outlined in blue). The third thing to notice is that the major fault lines ALL run through our licenses and intersect with several of our targets. There are no obvious major fault lines indicated in the other two thirds of the Lower Roan not within our licenses. When you take a really good look at what we have then you realise just how smart the management have been in acquiring these key areas and continuing to increase the ownership.

Most likely just traders trying a pump and dump. The price isn’t going to move significantly without some news to back it up.

Cheyeza was mentioned by Nick and Vassilios as a deep drilling target in the last investor call.

Ortus, the 1% figure was an overall average, including some drills with very low numbers. It will certainly be interesting to see what the deeper drill data turns up. This is the histogram for the Cheyeza East data so far:

I would look at the other mines in the around the domes to get an idea of what is good. From memory, the major deposits on the Zambian side average something like 0.5-0.7 %. The DRC side is much higher in general because the dome is very asymmetric in shape, with most of it falling towards the DRC, so most of the copper bearing fluids would have gone in that direction. The results we’ve seen from Cheyeza so far have an average of something like 1.0%. Personally I don’t think grades will be a problem, it’s more about locating the ore in large volumes.

It looks like things are still ongoing with the Rackla Metals transaction, although the name change on LinkedIn suggests it may not be too long…. hopefully anyway!

@mesb48, they are Sentinel 2 satellite images which are updated every 5 days and free to download. They are 10m resolution images so not possible to see fine detail but good as an overview. There are various ways to get the images but I use this one:

Ah OK, thanks anyway Rocktapper. Yes, that was one of the first things that struck me when I started pulling all of the data strands together, the correlation of Upper / Lower Roan contacts and faulting/ folding with mineralisation. It's also quite revealing to overlay the EM map with the satellite imagery, in many cases it's possible to see how the mineralisation ties into surface fault lines and even the colour of the soil / vegetation! From what I've read, initial exploration from satellite imagery is becoming more commonplace, especially in areas of dense vegetation.

Thanks Rocktapper, I've just been using Google Earth to display all of the overlays but I'll have a look at that and see if I can do anything with it. I have added the geology layer from the Zambia Mining Cadastre whcih may be a bit more simplistic than what you have looked at but even that shows strong correllation with the EM and XRF maps. I totally agree with you on the scale of what Arc holds within it's licenses, I'm pretty sure that if all shareholders were geologists then the share price would be far North of where it currently is!

I've looked at todays satellite image and can see 'activity' (I won't say the b word!) at the north end of the Nyambwezu anomaly, in the last image it was at the South end. It could, as you say, be down to lightning strikes but my gut feeling is that they are planning to drill this area. To be honest I'd be surprised if they didn't as the data is indicating something posibly twice the area of Sentinel so it would be crazy not to put in a test drill there. I'm wondering if they are trying to prove up the potential of the Zaco license with a view to selling that on whilst continuing with exploration on the other targets. We have so much potential within the licenses that it would be impossible to assess them all this season so to me it would make sense to try and concentrate on one license first. Just my opinion / speculation of course!
