It seems a bit of an over reaction to what is a pretty standard resolution at most AGM’s. Clearly there is mistrust in the company or it would have been voted through at the last AGM. Hopefully it sends a message to the management to stop sending out mixed messages regarding future funding.

As the former CEO of Copper operations it seems obvious that Mr Wanblad must have given the green light to try and complete a transaction with Arc. It would certainly be a nice first announcement if he is the one to complete the deal. He hasn’t been officially voted in yet I don’t think but it looks like a formality.

Maybe they were waiting for the new man to take the hot seat before announcing a deal…..

I should have pointed out that they were both trustees on the board of the Anglo American charitable foundation so must have been well acquainted with each other!

I assume that the idea is to scare off potential new investors here and at the same time attract them to one of Mr Birds ‘lifestyle’ companies instead. :-)

I’m sure Ella realises as well as I do that the drill angle will make very little difference over these short distances unless the angle is very steep, which we know is not the case because its indicated on one of the maps. Also the high grade area is very shallow so any error there will be even less. I plotted the same graph using calculated vertical depths based on a 30 degree drill angle and the difference was negligible.

One thing it's important to understand I think, is that the depth of the rocks where we are expecting to find mineralisation is typically around 500m in this area. That means the copper bearing fluids will need to have travelled that distance in order to reach the surface from the underlying source rocks which have been stripped of copper. What we need to locate is the fracture zone where most of the fluids would likely have travelled, depositing copper on the way. The cross section through Sentinel is a good example, maximum depth of mineralisation there is about 450m and the main ore body dips quite steeply where it follows the fracture zone. Very easy to miss if you are doing a large scale exploration program. I'm sure the mining companies we are talking to are very aware of how significant our results so far are.

There’s not much data on the left (NW) side of the oxide area but you can follow the trend and see it sits in a kind of bowl shape. The interesting thing that I hadn’t picked up on previously is the sulphides sitting below the oxides. I’d really like to see some deeper drilling in that area to trace where those sulphides lead to!

Maybe the government needs to think outside the box a bit and build another town away from the tailings. That way the clean up can be done without further damage to the health of the residents.

Thanks @apro, yes good point regarding sentinel. Personally I’m expecting our average sulphide grades to fall in line with the other known deposits, ie, between 0.5-0.9 %. We are highly unlikely to see the massive grades that exist on the DRC side of the dome because the geology and chemistry is very different. We have the same or very similar geology as at Sentinel and the same brines which would have dissolved the copper and then deposited it. It makes sense that the grades would be similar. I’d be happy to be proved wrong of course… as long as it’s on the higher side!

Leon mentioned that there is a fully operational pilot plant but they took the decision to put processing on hold, mainly due to volatility in Vanadium prices rather than Zinc. They are looking for long term sustained prices rather than a short term spike.

Frankly it amazes me that some people are still doubting that we will get a deal done when the evidence is all around us of majors scrabbling to get a foothold in the area, partnering up with companies who hold licenses far less advanced than ours and without the multiple proven sulphide deposits. No wonder 3 companies are courting us…. Why wouldn’t they be!

Here’s an overview of the drilling at Cheyeza East for anyone who wants to get a better understanding of where we are. The shallow drilling has been colour coded, yellow < 0.5%, green 0.5-1.0%, light blue 1.0-2.0%, purple >2.0%. The drill with supergene enriched copper (13.34%) is in red.

Most of the drill results didn’t specify oxide or sulphide so I’m assuming they are all oxides. For the ones which did state sulphides I’ve noted that on the map. The deeper drilling from last year we don’t know enough to state anything apart from they hit deeper sulphides on at least a couple of those planned drill locations immediately west of the oxide area.

I’ve plotted the pins onto the EM map and it’s pretty clear to see that the high grade oxides correspond well to the red area on the EM map. The discordant anomaly where we are doing the deeper exploratory drilling has lots more of these red anomalies so we may well see more high grade oxides there.

A couple of things interest me in the oxide area… we did hit shallower sulphides on a couple of drills… just on the deep end of the drill range… what if there are more sulphides beneath the high grade oxides and we just didn’t drill deep enough to hit them? Also the supergene enriched mineralisation is quite shallow (27m). From my understanding (I’m no expert on this) the supergene enriched area usually exists between the oxide layer and the sulphide layer, immediately below the water table. Maybe this is an indication of shallow sulphides existing nearby?
