Eish - I agree that HOC SP has held up well so far but - sad to say - looking at my 10 other companies of interest several are up 7% and one is up 14% so if the accident had not happened I believe we would be up at least 7% today - but best not to cast sheep's eyes at other companies ! I still believe firmly in the strong potential of HOC once clear of the present problem and I still think 290p achievable later this year. Regards

HOC had - for the first time in its history zero fatalities in 2014 and 2015 - not sure about 2016 but sad that such a fine record has been broken so early this year. I have no doubt that the BOD is working like mad to alleviate the misery caused and reassure the Inmaculada and other sites workers that HOC IS a caring employer. Regards all

Blue-Eyes - my sympathies are all with the families - I recently lost my eldest brother - he had Parkinson's Disease for 35 years and his wife had MS and died 20 years ago. tragedy for all the extended family - they were the finest people in the world. regards

Blue-Eyes TY for the info - what on earth were CONTRACTORS doing in the tunnel unless they were setting up equipment for HOC employees to use. No doubt we will hear more soon - until we do I am just sitting tight on my shares. Regards

aaples - depends entirely on the initial HOC AIB initial findings and the relevant Peruvian AIB recommendations - no details yet - could be as simple as a trucking accident or as complicated as a major roof cave-in (unlikely as the casualties were contractors NOT HOC employees) i would think the likely cause was a loading of ore onto contractor's vehicles - if this is so the mine can reopen very quickly. The company is constrained at the mo and cannot give any major details which might prejudice the AIB investigation. The fact that the SP is going back up is a good sign IMO Regards

I have been - in my working life - president of Boards of Inquiry (BOI) and professional (RAF) adviser to Accident Investigation Boards (AIB) - depending on the Terms of Reference (TORs) the AIB is working to the investigation might clear HOC to reopen the mine very soon (if it was a mistake made by the miners for instance) If the AIB is happy that the accident was just that and not a failure of company regulations or management HOC may be OK to restart Inmaculada operations soon - the final report by the AIB will take much longer but HOC has had one or two fatalities before so will know how to fast track the findings and put in place enhanced safety rules very quickly. I used to know quite a lot of UK coal miners (salt of the earth !) and they told me that "blood and bones" is the true price of coal - in 1917 we had one million coal miners "digging for victory" and the death and serious injury rate was in the thousands each year ! Brave men the miners of the world ! Regards all

hopefully bottomed at about 232p - disaster for miners and company - Inmaculada is the flagship of HOC - BOD needs to push out an RNS ASAP to give a forecast of how long the mine will be closed - if it is a major H and S investigation it could be a long time before the mine reopens. Sotolo - quick look at CEY results - excellent in every way - SP should bounce up today. HOC RNS - very bad news on 2 deaths and halt to production - may well push us down today - HOC normally has an excellent record on safety ! Regards

Eish - I am constantly researching other companies but I have yet to find one that ticks all the boxes like HOC does - some have massive debts - some have very low market value - some have very few day trades - some have only new shares to sell to bring in cash to pay daily costs - some are in very politically unstable areas of the world. HOC has none of these problems and given a level playing field the SP will get back up to 290 or 300 this year - all IMOO I was fascinated by one company last year which had found very rich gold and silver fields and should have taken off but the company had little cash to invest and was in the Kurdish area of eastern Turkey - I went there when I was based in Turkey during the Iraq conflict and it is "bandit country" - our party met a hostile reception until we told them we were English not American - after that the Kurds treated us very well ! I am only holding HOC shares at the mo and will continue to do so unless Feb and Mar bring really bad news from HOC (not likely IMO) - I am still intrigued by the report that the HOC BOD will unveil some very good news in March !!! Perhaps they have hit on an emerald deposit in one of their mines - LOL Today may see a drop back in SP due to profit taking but I think the trend is still firmly up this year. Trumpton will get rid of Yellen next IMO - the woman is a menace to shareholders and should be replaced by a solid Republican optimist ! Today may see a big attack on drug firms - long overdue - when a firm can increase its prices by 1200% to the NHS it is obviously corrupt and needs to be controlled. I can buy things like paracetamol in Morrisons SM for about 50p - if I went to a GP they would cost me a lot more. We frequently see consumer programmes on TV highlighting the way drug companies bribe GPs to buy their products at high prices - ripping off the NHS and taxpayers ! I would not buy shares in drug companies at the mo. Banks continue to get caught out in theft and fraud - so no bank shares for me either ! Despite reports to the contrary - the USA is bringing back into use "mothballed" fracking rigs which will negate the OPEC and NOPEC cuts in production and hold oil below $60 a barrel IMO - so no oily shares for me either. Time will tell but I am waiting for the next Trumpton attack on a complacent world - LOL Like him or hate him you have to admit he is keeping his pre-election promises (unlike all other politicians world wide) at a high rate of knots and has upset a lot of long standing political apple carts !!! How long before he is taken out in a contract killing ? The US Secret Service guys and gals must be having nightmares on a daily basis (I can say things like that because I am 25% Irish - LOL) Regards and keep the faith with HOC

back again - yes I am retired after 65 years in the RAF man and boy - LOL dad in the RAF and followed the flag to Gibraltar, Rhodesia, Cyprus and Singapore - working class boy but I and my two older bro went to Grammar School and got into the RAF as officer aircrew - we did not need positive discrimination and neither did other WCB like Alan Sugar et al - what a load of patronising rubbish is coming out of the MPs these days ! Windows 10 failure !

noggers - just got binned by the wonderful Windows 10 !!! What a bag of nails it is - unexpectedly freezing the laptop for updates which often wipe out all the stored logins ! Yes i am retired after 65 years man and boy in the RAF ! I think I have earned my pension ! - I wish the MPs would get off the "I hate OAPs" bandwagon - 2.5% lock on £7000 is only £175 a year and as it is taken off the tax free amount is effectively taxed ! I would like to see the rich MPs try to live on £7000 a year ! Anyway, with inflation going up past 2.5% soon it is all academic IMO. Rant over - back to making money - LOL I am toying with becoming a divi chaser - some good divis coming up on BWY - 3 Dec BVS - 24 Mar and TEF - 16 Jun Will see what happens to our SP 2 weeks after ex div date ! seems we have the BB all to ourselves - LOL. Perhaps the other investors are very laid back and fully expecting a 30% recovery ? Good divi coming up and possibly more good news - govt is to buy £3 billion of unsold homes to give to immigrants ? Govt does not say which homes - not in east or south i think as they are still going up at 8% + at the mo ! We will have to see what impact the rising prices for wood, bricks etc will have on our ops but I think most EU citizens RENT and do not buy their own homes, so maybe we should do the same ! My wife tells me we need to hang onto our home to sell later for care home fees - I am 71 and she is 66 - both still in good health - so we shall see. Regards and GL

as i hoped - the SP has bounced back today - probably on the back of excellent trading statements from BWY et al. Hopefully when BDEV publish their EYR results we will see a similar bounce. Div is very welcome meantime. Regards all and GL
