RE: BNP sets Oct deadline for election schedule vigilance25 Jul 2025 19:55
Something tells me, that the elections will be held in February, but sadly not without them having to go on the streets … Yunus has a lot to answer for, that’s for sure!!
The party has decided to take to the streets from August with different programmes in demand of quick state reforms, timely elections as promised by Prof Yunus and protesting the conspiracy to destabilise the country. In that case, it has planned to hold programmes including road marches, divisional rallies, and constituency-based foot marches across the country, including in Dhaka city, party sources said.
Talking to the Daily Sun, an organising secretary of the party, wishing not to be named, said the law and order situation in the country is deteriorating alarmingly as a certain quarter is taking this chance to destabilise the situation. “The BNP has planned to remain in the streets to resist any plot.”
In the meeting, the party leaders gave their opinions on what to do in the coming days and how to keep the activities going in the field for the next three months. Most of the leaders called for holding road marches and divisional rallies, while some others called for rallies at the grassroots level, like union, upazila, and district.
The BNP standing committee will hold its meeting in the current week and will finalise the next course of action, including its programmes for the next three months ahead of the national election, party sources said.
