Can someone please tell me why this post was removed????
Quick summary of where we are and recent news –
As we have seen from last week, energy and especially using the countries own coal resources is being discussed more and more. I am sure that with it being such an important subject that will continue as we get closer and closer to the elections.
What do we know………..
• Only 45 trading days left before December when the new Energy Roadmap is due to be announced by the Interim government.
• Fouzul Khan, who is in charge of the Power and Energy department has already said that using own coal would be a recommendation within the report.
• Recently, more than ever before, using own coal is being seen in a positive light, with a specific mention of Phulbari OPM, and its benefits to the country having been discussed and written about by not only the press, but also the Interim Government.
• The Teesta River is waiting to be signed off, and according to press reports, PowerChina is due to start in January 2026.
• It is thought that the overburden from Phulbari will be used on the Teesta River project and the massive amount of development about to start in the northern region.
• After a period of consolidation, Fridays rise came from the release of another new positive interview with the Energy and Power magazine, (see digits post yesterday at 15.29pm for more info). What was interesting apart from the fact that the interview was very positive was that it was an environmentalist who was recommending Phulbari OPM.
• It is expected that the BNP will win the elections by quite a large margin, and I would expect that all the three main parties, BNP, Jamaat, and NCP will start to discuss their future plans, and their manifestos shortly. The three main parties have all said that the county’s own minerals / coal should be used, so when they start to discuss this publicly this will be another trigger for the SP.
• With recent positive press reports writing about the countries coal plants, at Rampal, Matarbari, Payra, etc, and how important these coal plants are to the future growth of not only the locals and the areas around them, but the country in general, it definitely feels different at this point in time.
• For anyone looking in, take a read of this website, https://www.phulbari.org/ it has some really good info on it and is the easiest and quickest way to get up to date.
• Another really good article for info is from the seminar earlier this year https://online.fliphtml5.com/qklxk/wvlr/#p=13
