If you hold the share certificates (a pain and broker fees are higher) then I would assume its irrelevant if the broker is insolvent. There are some advantages as in scrip issue, which isn’t available via Hargreaves Lansdown.
Is it available through other brokers??

It appears that the new variation of covid has actually been in South Africa for a while.
So risk of it being a lot worse (deaths) seems unlikely.
Wherever the market falls further (hence legal and general) I have no idea and can't see how it is priced into the market. Logical behaviour, specially in periods of uncertainty is not its strong point.

Well that fall for Newriver was a bit harsh. I suspect there may have been a bit of profit taking there.
The new rules don't look to extreme for their customers.
So if the market bounces back Monday it should (hopefully) bounce higher!

Annoyingly there is an investment trust I'm after (MONTANARO EUROPEAN SMALLER COMPANIES). At last it's premium has fallen has fallen a bit but not its share price. It went up slightly on Monday. Its actually created 100,000s of new shares this month and the premium is still there. The premium has only dropped because the underlying assets have. That is really ****ing me off!

5.2% drop. That's a fair bit more than the ftse100.
This maybe worries over life insurance claims? Odd as not many 70 80 year old have life insurance. If they did it would be called a " guaranteed return"!
On the other hand lots will have annuities.
Although legal and general US life insurance was not "protected" by annuities.
All the same the fall is overdone...as usual with legal and general. I suspect this was a chance to take profits more than worries about L&G profits.

Will have to hold on. Want to move stuff into isa but won't be this...for now.

Nice gain hopefully they will hold onto it.
I am still down on one purchase 3% but up 37% on the other. Can't complain.
Am I remembering right, two dividends a year with a third if there's anything left over to meet the REIT requirements?

This is the actual price quoted for a short time on Hargreaves Lansdown. I would say I have seen the sell above the buy on Legal and general regularly. At a guess once a month at least. There is always a warning that the price might not be accurate (really!)
End or start of day or market turmoil, is the general reason given. It was just a little bit extreme on that day. It made my share price gain on Legal and general a little exaggerated!

I know they display like that (it was a copy and paste). Seen them like that loads of times ...but not quite that extreme.
I thought I would go to deal and see what the real prices were...standard 0.2p spread.
I can dream!!!

Same with me. Bought City of London in march flogged it in May for Aberdeen Standard Equity Income Trust because I liked there covid strategy. Dec appeared to be part of it. Either way thought I would read up and liked what I read and used some dividends to buy.

7p gives me 9.5% and 11.2% dividend and hopefully a significant capital gain.
Worth waiting for.

Bought some.....not enough, up 11% today. First purchase via primary bid. I like no tax or stockbroker fees.

You can see it anyway you want, facts are they were profitable and becoming more so.
The same statement applies nationally.
The question is or would have been what if any effects would covid have long term?
Some people may never bother again.
Some people will go more often as they won't be travelling as much.
Either way we ain't going to gain or loose as they have flooged them now. And cheaply to boot.

Not reflected in the share price though. Surprising considering just how much that reduced the cost.

I would like 332 that will be a 100% for my march 2020 purchase. Lovely jubbly!
