If not could you offer us some further insights into your behind the scenes knowledge of Newriver?

They have over paid but there strategy is to reduce volatility and therefore make profits and dividends more predictable. Hence we lose out at this point in time but benefit in the future.....hopefully.
BUT can they add/buy more output in the new area at a price that reflects the past prices or future prices?
I am afraid the latter is more likely. They may not be even able to get purchases, who would want to sell in this market?

Inflation is caused by companies charging more for their products. Therefore owning shares is a hedge against Inflation. A simplistic statement as not all companies have pricing power.
This company https://www.ejfi.com/ according to their site has 70% of their investment in index linked bonds of small insurance companies and banks. They are not called bonds, the name escapes me at the moment. Dividend is 8% the discount is 20% (its an investment trust).
I have yet to do thorough research on it (and probably won't bother).
Inflation is transitory simply because we are entering (if we haven't already) a new economic revolution, which includes an agricultural revolution which will probably result in a 40% increase in output with the same amount of land and considerably lower inputs. All a result of AI and Robotics.
I have no intentions of changing my investment Strategy based on something that may last a couple of years (inflation).
Not one investment trust that I bought during the crash has reduced its dividend all have increased it. I can see no logic in giving up a 10.5% legal and general dividend (for example) for something that pays a paltry interstest rate. No logic whatsoever.

Not be able to get it right is an excellent reason for not day trading....if ever there was one!
As an aside does day trading still involve paying the half percent tax on buying? Throw in fees and spread I really can't see how day trading can be profitable?

I prefer they didn't go to quarterly dividends. The big share swings are good opportunities for buyers and sellers.

Not happy with the China bit. Just don't trust the Chinese government. My definition of high risk. Never mind, early days, I can always get out before China is to big apart of legal and generals investments.

Thanks Inkose helpful to know. It appears that dividend growth on some growth shares will double very quickly...from next to nothing to nearly nothing. Eventually rising to meaningful...well after my expected death.
