I noticed yesterday that Russian dollar bonds had gone from 2% return to a 20% return. (Don't quote me on exact figures). So if trading at par they have gone from 100$ bond to 10$ bond.
I would think it unlikely they would pay the coupon (assuming they could) They are therefore defaulted bonds. Worthless.

Vietnam wants to buy LNG from US but they need to build the infrastructure first.

At last bought 116.1. Would have been in profit earlier if they hadn't "given away" shares.
Pity it is because of war.
The hedging will make next year very profitable.
BUT will they be able to continue there expansion/buy new assets at reasonable prices?
I have my doubts.

No chance of that then.

Chinese holdings were 25% and are now 13%?
I bought a smallish amount of HFEL because of the size of Chinese holdings.
If I recall correctly that's a big drop.
Very big, it is clearly suggesting that they don't trust the Chinese government...well that is my interpretation.
PS Vinacapital moved upthe table. Not sure if that is an increased purchase or falling less than the others in the portfolio?

CGEO looks great value. They are buying back shares but it doesn't appear to be having much effect.

PS most, possibly 80% of my share purchases were March 2020 onwards. So not really long term
Again income Newriver REIT is possible. Purchases by directors suggest there is a fair bit to go on the share price and hence the dividend.

Returns have been terrible and great!
During the crash I went for income. And have done very nicely.
As money became available I have been buying growth (not high growth).
UK and European Smaller companies. Dire suspect I am down 20% on them.
In the high growth I bought Smithson in March 2020. Was up 126% and it then fell to a 70% gain. So growth is taking a kicking.
If you are looking at income Sequoia Economic Infrastructure Income Fund has fallen significantly. It does have a defaulted loan but it is not for significant amount.
You might want to have a look at that.
Personally I am going to continue to go for growth as I move money into my isa....probably! you have to take advantage of what you see is a bargain

And not yet reflected in the share price.
When you see directors selling shares it doesn't follow that the company is doing badly, there can be many reasons for selling shares ie buying a bigger house etc etc.
On the other hand buying shares when you have inside knowledge on how well the company is doing that's different that's different!

I think NAV are determined by a external valuer who determined the risk of each loan. I assumed every 6 months. So there maybe reduction soon...or not.
Does anyone else have any knowledge on how the NAV is determined and how often?
