Skid35 - debt is relatively low for GB Group, if anything they should be seeking to take on a little more borrowing so long as it's used to drive efficiencies & growth that is. Contrary to popular belief debt used wisely is no bad thing at all.

Move to main market makes good sense IMO as this stock can then be added to portfolios of a far larger pool of investors. This soundly run business should flourish on the main market. DYOR - IMO

Even RBC's £4 rating isn't helping CPI's SP - Presumably because the terrible financials have now locked CPI into a difficult Autumn/Winter ahead?!

I'd set a buy order here although, seems it didn't kick in -as SP did not drop low enough. I only wanted to buy up another stake here if price was to become keen enough (sub £1.525 ideally)- Since I already hold a fair bit of stock here, and I've a rather low average too... only worthwhile me buying up more if I can get an exceptionally great price.

And today that very same RBC just went and announced a buy rating and a target of £4 for the SP

Only ~1.4% of stock is short at the minute - This RBC broker 'buy' rating and £4 target provides a nice opportunity for those short traders wishing to be bold here, and I think they could strike hard perhaps to take this to sub £2 over the weeks ahead?!

GaslitSunlit has a good point about CPI needing to shed staff - basic comparisons made with competitor businesses reveals CPI has a bloated & inefficient workforce. Computacenter is delivering 3x the revenues with just 20,074 employees. Whereas CPI has 34.5k employees who are delivering just over £2bn (and falling) annual revenues.

If people think AH is imminently delivering the epic turnaround he's promised they're going to be sorely disappointed when those next set of results emerge and the business has shrunk yet again!😬 - IMV I think LTH's are being taken for a royal ride here by AH and his BOD's spouting nonsense PR hype... the financials are where the truth lies.

Eyeing up a 3rd purchase here 👀... prices looking decent today, so lets see if my buy order gets filled or not?! For transparency, I've thus far bought up 2x small tranches (one at ~228p, other at ~218p) - tiny £90 loss so far (the plus side of using a £ cost averaging buying strategy!) - Aiming to eventually buy up about 20x or so tranches over many weeks so I'm in no great rush👍- Saving the stamp duty on the buys too (until the move to main market kicks in later on this yr). DYOR - IMO

Dartron - With the buyback totalling £25mil it represents less than 5% of the market Cap, so there's certainly headroom for further buybacks if the BOD's opts to make such a move down the line and I agree the long duration of this is a good move because it'll assist with smoothing some of the wider global turbulence here plus the low level will not give any worry to LTH's about affordability of this share buyback round either.

For me, as a new investor here, the shorters and sellers are providing a nice opportunity to continue with gently accumulating (thus far I've only purchased 2x of around 20x or so tranches which I ultimately plan on purchasing) 👍 - saving the 0.5% Stamp Duty by buying prior to the move onto the main market as well.

It's far more likely it's in fact the retail outlets selling endless 'stuff' which are the ones really in trouble. Many would much rather enjoy time well spent with their friends & family, than they would going airport shopping!😅

AimMaster2018 - See that's where I do not agree with you Aim.. "companies that can generate fcf is very valuable"... Actually, the most valuable businesses are those which consistently keep their eyes and efforts laser focused upon growing! Growing businesses encounter far fewer issues because:

It doesn't matter if:

1. admin costs are increasing, when a business is growing

2. one off expenses are being booked, when a business is growing

3. debts are being taken on, when a business is growing

4. more people are being employed, when a business is growing

5. dividends are going up, when a business is growing

6. raw materials prices are increasing, when a business is growing

The best thing about SSPG BOD's is they've remained laser focused upon growth - they rightly took on debts to drive forwards the big expansion plans and now those huge, and growing, revenues are ensuring the debts are entirely manageable. The BOD's have not been reckless in their planning either; they booked expenses for IT upgrades- to keep control of the cost base👍- SSPG have been rather great at doing deals too e.g. Greggs and many other strategic partnerships with popular brands. As a result SSPG will soon be a £4bn annual revenue business and because they've expanded into many markets they're well positioned to cope with global turbulence too.

Pb1001 - Unfortunately, you've failed to account for divi's over that 5yr period (maybe as CPI doesn't pay any divi's you forgot other investments do?)

Computacenter have had a fairly decent divi yield, ranging between around 2.5-4% - Certainly enough to significantly soften the negative impacts of inflation and when combined with the SP rise I'd imagine someone who invested 5yrs ago would have seen a real terms profit. Compared to a CPI investor who would have seen minus 53% with no dividends either then it's clear as day that CPI is a terrible business with terrible leadership even today (as it's still losing money and additionally still has far too many employees on the payroll).

Computacenter is currently delivering £6bn+ revenues, with profit to show for it - and with fewer employees on the books too.

The turnaround dream for CPI is simply not occurring! It's crystal clear CPI is in huge peril, despite all the PR being pushed out by AH and the BOD's.

Nonsense, SSP Group took on debts to fund growth and now with elevated prices SSPG will no doubt raise prices for customers... those incoming revenues will make servicing the debts taken on considerably easier and that's because inflation is not so bad: if you happen to be a debtor, and providing the business with such debts continues to benefit from an ample and growing customer base too 👍

The BOD's have made some exceptionally good decisions IMV - it was always going to be the better play to utilise borrowings to drive growth plus refinancing debts at lower rates (as the central banks deliver rate cuts) will also become a potentially beneficial option too.

The debt purists have been relentlessly trying to convince businesses and individuals to be super frugal and contrary to that popular belief there's actually many very good reasons to take on debts sometimes!👌😎☀️

Fair points cefncribwr - although, conversely have you considered many pension, hedge and investment funds are only permitted to hold certain volumes of AIM stocks? - Whereas they all have far more freedom to heavily buy into the main market FTSE 100 + 250 stocks.

Personally for me, I'm looking at the wider macroeconomic landscape and I'm thinking about what will happen gradually over time (as interest rates in the developed nations come downwards) - i.e. it'll make holding cash less attractive, and holding equities more attractive. So I'm opting to accumulate more equities, albeit slowly & steadily... in what I believe are soundly run businesses with sensible business models (and GBG fits into that profile - for me anyway).
