Labour demonstrating the standards expected of Ministers and MP's has to be very high following the 14yrs of many Tory scandals. The decision has landed pretty rapidly when compared to past Governments.

So who will become Deputy PM?! It will be really interesting to see who niw fills that role. Big setback for Starmer, with his plans to have a 'decade of National Renewal'. Can he keep the show on the rails and what will it mean for the economy & business? Hopefully any turbulence will be short lived 🤞- because we know the Tories and Reform (now half full of those failed Tories) cannot be trusted.

Yes, entirely possible some complained. Especially as many on here would much rather buy into the nonsense ramping and the prose of the Truss and Farage clans too.

When in reality CPI is deep in trouble, and the UK macroeconomic woes are the fault of the inept Tory administrations who gave the nation 14 long years of decline and decay, while enriching themselves and their fellow chums.

Within Jet2' AGM Statement on the RNS released this morning it says: "Looking ahead to Winter 25/26, we have chosen to exercise capacity discipline in a less certain consumer environment"

As I've mentioned times before on here (albeit many berated & hurled abuse at me for it) I shared it was my view the over speculators were way too optimistic on the forward looking passenger growth figures. I didnt deny this summer 25 would show healthy volumes and tivket prices but I did say I thought there would be trouble from Autumn 25 onwards. The Jet2 RNS appears to back up my long held view and I see Jet2 has dropped 25% (perhaps a little bit of an over reaction but its clear there is demand weakness from UK, and therefore high ticket prices have to be deterring holidaymakers, who are delaying bookings until the last minute).

The other really interesting thing... what added most towards the elevated ONS UK inflation figs?... Well it was airline ticket prices! Which look to me primed to drop. I'm looking at this thinking BoE could well about to be forced into some sudden rate cuts ✂️ (despite the rhetoric from Bailey which says the opposite).

ShropshireTF11 - I always think its best to hear an open range of views. Aside from Avocet123 of course, who is the only person I have on filter because their posting history reveals they spout nonsense and never quote any sources of information. I may not agree with AimMaster2018 or Macy but... they do at least provide evidence and put forward ideas which can be valid points from time to time.

Horsey one, you may have a point about trading but for me I'm invested in SSPG because I think it'll prove to be a massive success in the mid-term 👍😎 - I'm willing to accept the bumps in the road, as I see them as buying opportunities for accumulating some more (albeit slowly and steadily) - DYOR

I'm not so aure horsey one... I think the Government coming out with 'the fiscal rules are non-negotiable' has only temporarily steadied the markets. Sept & Oct tend to be tricky months in any financial year but especially so when there's so much global macroeconomic turbulence. I dont doubt them pesky shorters will be back for another bite. Though I remain confident SSPG will ride this out and emerge on top, be careful with your buys and you should see plenty of profit in the mid-term I reckon 📈 👍😎

Nonsense - These many economic woes were purely & squarely caused by the 14yrs of Tory chaos, tory economic strategy wasn't working and the only way they kept the wheels turning for as long as they were able to was via allowing massive uncontrolled immigration (as that helped them to prop up the growth figures - when in reality there was no true growth, it was just greater population figs driving the numbers higher).

The solution isn't Farages snake oil 'net zero migration' - that'll simply bring about immediate insolvency (and is why Farage, despite all his incessant ramblings, will never deliver what he champions- he's just using it to try to get into No.10).

Starmer & Reeves have broadly the correct approach, and that'll show in time. Although, they need to take more from the super wealthy... pocket some for the treasury, and hand much of it out to the masses to drive up real growth. Tax them boomers to the hilt I say! Hear, hear! After all, they're the folks who gained most from voting for the Tory rule, and left the rest of us with decayed services & impoverished communities - so they should be the ones who pay the price 💰👍

As for CPI, Tory rule did the most to damage many businesses by far! Through their highest tax rises in any modern parliament - national debt soared to £2.7trillion under the Tories, extending the credit was how they clung onto power for an unduly long time!

Labour will tidy up the mess the Tories made but it won't be easy and it won't be quickly achieved either (because of the vast extent of Tory damage).

Eightyeight88 - 🤣🤣 You're talking nonsense - I've a single tranche bought up at that ~£1.87 level, I've never paid more than that for any of my SSPG stock- so nope, I do not have an average so high as you might perceive. As I stated, I have done the vast majority of my buying down in the 150-160p range, I have a low average down in this range 👍😎☀️

Trumpian method of rebalancing US trade is moronic. Far cheaper to continue getting the low value manufacturing done in other countries and shipping into USA cheap...

All the strategy will do is lower wages for US citizens and cut their living standards along with it. Once the US voters feel those lower living standards they'll eject the administration, just the same way as voters here ejected the Tory scammers at the July 24 GE.

The route to growth is through healthy trade and rising standards, and not a 'race to the bottom miserly austerity competition' - which the parties of the right wing are mis-selling.

Eightyeight88 - I only own one tranche at that £1.87 level, and so very fortunately its far outweighed by all the buying I've done in the 150-160p range. Mind you, it'll matter very little over the mid term that I overpaid for that one tranche of stock there and that's because IMV this business is heading for £2.30-£3 easily. I'm content accumulating and I've been transparent on here with sharing my approach and reasoning. I've plenty of dry powder to outlast and temporary drop of the SP too because I own all my shares, so I'm not hostage to the fees which CFD traders have to cough up 👍 - I shall be continuing with my gradual & steady accumulating 😎☀️

What i would say is... take care not to sit on the sidelines for too long, else you may find the door slams shut after the gap becomes filled and following that this stock could leap up rapidly immediately afterwards.

Everton66 - I agree with you, revenues have been very healthy and IMV its because the BOD's made good decisions of where and what to invest. I think SSPG will ride out this global turbulence and come out stronger than ever. Whereas many other businesses struggling... take WH Smiths for example, tired stores with long outdated branding which is familiar for sure but certainly not inspiring or that inviting for consumers, and that shows in their poor sales figs. Meanwhile SSPG's figs have been very strong and they've invested into IT upgrades to remain efficient and in control of cost (something othwr businesses have allowed to get out of control).
