Trisor - It is True that I could have made money on CPI (as I could have bought in when it dropped to 12.5-13.5p in old money (187.5p-202.5p in old money) - It's definitely the case I'd have seen a massive rise had I bought in. However, do I really think CPI is worth more today than it was back then when the SP was trading around in that low range?...
Nope, I do not and that's because since then the business has become smaller, with lower annual revenues, falling sales and many large outgoing costs.
For me personally CPI didn't fulfil the criteria I was looking for in terms of an investment stock to buy into heavily. Sure, it's a trading stock with big swings, some will make very good money from CPI. However, I shall remain sitting on the sidelines because I still think CPI has a troubled road lying ahead of it. Time will tell when FY2025 results land on the RND feed around March 2025.
