I think there will be yet further Profit + Revenue reductions together with higher than expected spending costs for the cost cutting exercises... the sale of Capita One will help cushion the blow but I think AH and the board will move to commit more funds to their investment and cost cutting exercises. There could be a rally on the optimistic words but imo there should in fact be a deep sell off as CPI is dying.

DrMaze - Christine Jardin (Lib Dem) saying on Sky news that passengers are entitled to compensation from airlines and they should contact their airline to seek reimbursements... Directly contradicts info others have shared on here so that could lead to huge volumes of claims enquiries... more headaches for the already stressed airline industry!

If BT was to implode the nation would completely fall over - in fact BT offers a decent service and I'm not seeing any issues arising with either BT or EE despite the global pandemonium... IMO BT delivers a decent quality service for a fair price! We'll see the next results tranche next week and IMO £1.65-£1.75 is easily within the sights during the next 0-3 months.

"Industry insiders say the problem is centred on the fact that cloud security companies have very high level privileges to update the core systems of their customers.

When this works, it helps protect their systems. When an attempted update fails, it brings down the systems they are supposed to protect, all at once.

While the fix is in theory, simple - updating systems physically from backup disks - in practice this is now more difficult in a cloud computing world."

A woman, flying with Ryanair, was on Sky news saying words to the effect that her luggage looks to have caught the flight to Geneva but... they missed the same flight as display boards listing gates did not update! If that problem is widespread the chaos will be massive and restoring normal service will take several days.

Pokerchips - Apparently they cannot just roll back the security update via a remote method. They seem to be saying the IT folks have to manually intervene to apply the patch on site.

Stupmy - Great question and yep, I'd be really interested to learn what insurance cover is in place, hopefully someone on here can share some details?🤞- This outage looks inevitable to inflict monumental costs but could be argued those costs are most likely to fall fairly equally for all across the board in % terms.

Good point Taverham - yes, who coughs up for the costs for disruption of this kind?... For incidents similar (bot not the same) in the past it's certainly been the airlines which have tended to have been forced to pay compensation... It does seem the current rules don't offer enough safeguards for what's now a landscape of many airliners having weakened balance sheets post covid - surely there has to be a review of the regs/rules following today's mass outage?

Summer holidays kick off and surprise, surprise the delays look set to be immense on the back of the global MS/Crowdstruck outages... The timing could hardly be worse and no doubt there will be some losses due to this. Where do you think EZJ SP head by COP today?

Proves just how critical data and data security is in today's world! BT does not charge enough for the decent services it delivers imo... you get a lot of data services for a low cost when compared to many other types of services people typically consume each month!

Except GoCPI there's a very real risk of CPI being a completely worthless business since it has falling profits, falling revenues and is now selling off it's silverware to place a big bet on AH and the recovery plan... Now I am not claiming AH 100% cannot deliver, maybe he can do so with much time? - Meanwhile I've preferred to invest in BT because it's paying out a decent divi and should prove to be a sound long term investment imo, I think in the end I'll make more my BT equities.

Brexit has been a disaster - Pulling up the drawbridge (trade protectionism) rarely, if ever, contributes towards economic growth. Instead let us 'open the gates'!... for only then can a nation truly prosper. As for Net-Zero... the luddites will nay-say just as before when they objected to mechanisation... Fortunately, no one can stand in the way to prevent progress!

Agree email - those are shocking charges. Glad I made my exit on 2nd Jan and these high charges would prevent me from buying back in because I can just buy stakes in other stocks instead.

Far more likely RBC are rating CPI at 22p and then simultaneously selling off their own CPI holdings to the mugs who lap up the spin
