Fleccy... you claim the pension tax change was a 'tax raid'... however, it reads very differently to me... it looks as though it was simply rescinding a previously rather generous tax giveaway. Many companies make plenty of dosh... if they cannot do the decent moral obligation of paying the proper level of cash into their workers pensions schemes then they should close up shop and make way to let another business open up and do so! Reform and the Tories routinely attack benefits claimants for 'perceived scrounging' a miserly ~£60odd universal credit per week and many claiming are in work anyway... the far bigger issue is tax dodging by the wealthy. Reform + Tories can offer nothing positive to grow the economy or improve standards for anyone... all they offer are lies, decay, and yet more hate. Nigels many lies about brexit reveal that his only aim is to line his own pockets and those of his mates. Absolutely charlatan he is!

Now for the fabulous ministerial appointments!! At last... competent minsters to deploy the sound and pro business policy which is desperately needed! 🤩

I then asked everyone "could we be about to see a retreat downwards into the £1.20's?" - simply my question to member on this site for open discussion...

For transparency, my wife is invested in SSPG however, I am not - I think sellers may well pull this right down towards £1.30p and perhaps even into the depths of £1.20's - I feel SSPG's revenues will end up being bumper but... the board took a bold gamble, on deep borrowing to invest, and it may take some time for that decision to pay out big returns... Yes, summer 24 is booming on the travel front and hopefully it'll easily help service the SSPG debts but clearly some out there are selling and shorting this stock as they feel SSPG may have been too bold.

Given CPI won this renewal I suggest it's most likely any uplift is very small:

Had AH & CPI failed to win this contract renewal it'd have delivered a seismic blow. So I'd bet on there being no tangible margin improvement or profits uplift... Perhaps CPI secured a rate slightly above the base annual inflation rate but... I very much doubt CPI received anything significantly better. If captain AH has an ounce of sense (I believe he does) he'd first focus on stability for his heavily listing ship...

I doubt AH would have approved the sales dept. making a significant price hike on an existing customer, only to simultaneously place CPI at major risk of a competitor grabbing that major contract from out of CPI's hands.

This renewal looks, on the face of it, to be fabulous news... Scratch beneath the surface though and I think it's probably a contract that CPI will continue to lose money on.

More contagion in this sector suggests some big troubles lie ahead for CPI.

There's clearly strong buying demand for this equity. Following the recent sharp rise I'd have anticipated more profit taking activity and therefore a substantial retreat...

General election result should provide a boost and at 140p a share the annual divi still represents a 5.71% ROI for investors currently buying.

The FTTP & 5G rollouts continue pressing forwards... it'll soon be Christmas with many handsets & consoles under the tree with data/streaming packages available to ever more customers!

"capita will only bid for those contracts on better margin" - This appears to be CPI's fundamental problem - that it wants to be paid top dollar for a grade F service level. Usually when a business enters a phase of thinking it has a fundamental right to earn new business with plump margins then it's a sign the business doesn't understand the market it's operating within and has most likely already lost the hearts & minds of the customers it serves.

CPI is in big trouble imo - Atos is the canary in the mine but CPI is in the cage next door.

Quite clear that Capita has fallen well behind its competitors on both quality and price... it explains why it's not winning bids. AH will need to remedy that because it's all well and good making cuts to stem losses but a well run business has to pursue new business if it wants to services its debts and grow its revenues and profits.

There's significant consolidation going on right now in data outsourcing for both businesses and Gov... generally speaking this area of business is shrinking in terms of number of contracts, albeit each contract is growing in total scope size. Imv capita is simply not competitive right now, its demanding far more cash for a very poor service because it's failed to invest in skills/tech and data security....

I fully anticipate this squeeze, which is in flight but much of which still lies ahead, will act to separate out the thoroughbreds from the lame... a hungry lion looks set to gobble up the malnourished CPI gazelle - All In my opinion.
