Timemyfriend - Most interesting you state "all that matters is Capita Plc turning profit in the near future and hopefully a dividend" - That really hits the nail on the head because CPI has only turned a profit by selling off it's silverware i.e. the CapitaOne sale - without that sell off the balance sheet would be looking terrible. Revenues set to fall by low to mid single digit percentages according to CPI's own forward look and that forecast was written when expectations of economic performance were higher than they are today. So the H2 results are looking teed up to fall short of CPI's own dire expectations.

NOFEAR - I've been very clear all along, I don't have the trading experience or a big enough wallet to take out short positions. Not everything is a conspiracy yet so many on here peddle such bizarre theories, much like a disease has infiltrated the minds of many CPI investors on this page of the forum.

AimMaster2018 - that is not correct, I was precise when I shared the number I sold, which you've understated by close to 40% for the purposes of peddling your own misguided narrative. Also that was just 1 tranche which I sold and yes, I have never claimed to be a big player. I have always said I'm just an average working person here looking for a sound investment... and BT is performing nicely for me, whereas CPI is more like a unwell & badly neglected dog, good only for shorting.

Morgan Stanley's RNS is interesting as indicates they had already reduced their total position back on 13th Sep (item 5 of their RNS).

Have to say I'm seeing the emerging Macroeconomic data as being net negative for markets and I'm anticipating the sell off will pick up in pace. I guess we shall see soon enough as the Fed announces, conducts its press conference and then BoE is next up tomorrow...

CPI inflation 2.2% - Core Infl. 3.6%, Services Infl 5.6%

IMO this looks to be bad news for Capita... higher rates for longer will drag demand downwards at just the time CPI needs to be seeing strong demand + increased sales volumes (these fell short at last results).

I think today's economic data releases place a downside risk to H2 results prospects for Capita.

Interesting US markets closed flat... yes, suggests many are sitting on the fence awaiting these rate decisions, exactly as you had pointed out 👍

VIX 50-Day MA has been steadily rising since early July as well as current VIX appears trending upwards again too... Possibly a situation whereby Fed + BoE minutes and press comments become more crucial than the decisions themselves! Lots of potential for missteps to be made and ultimately that's why I opted to trim today, greater downside risks than upside potential opportunities IMO.

I've opted to book a small proportion of my profits - Volume 1,934 sold off at 09:59:54 - Hopefully this sale today will prove a good moment to have opted to trim my holdings🤞- I'm certain others will profit take, a nice addition to the recent divi's!

So far the narrative of BoE holding has been very dominant. I just can't help wonder if such talk was deliberate, to boost the £ strength thereby creating some room for a last minute pivot to make a 0.25% cut... IMO if the BoE were to cut 0.25% then it'd be a decent play right now.

It was my view the US Fed would increasingly tilt towards making a 0.5% trim to their rates range and articles appear to be pointing in that direction more and more...

The BoE has a major conundrum, cut and watch inflation bubble back up, hold and watch waning demand implode. However, BoE might view the ECB and fed cutting as giving it breathing space to make a Sep 0.25% trim because the bug downside to holding rates would be too much £ value appreciation, making exports rather uncompetitive relative to US & EU.

The more I analyse the upside v downside risks for the BoE the more I wonder if the BoE might see this rate decision as opportunity to gain the narrative upperhand and avoid criticism which they've received before of having been 'to slow to act'...

We've seen the ECB cut 0.25% already and US Fed will definitely cut by at least 0.25% too... Watch out for briefings/articles/comments over the next 48hrs because I think we could start to see rumours building of a 0.25% BoE cut ✂️

My prospects of getting a girl friend are indeed equal to 0%... Because I have a stunning wife!

Though throwing insults may make you feel big and clever they do not change the fact CPI continues to perform very poorly.

Still seems a long way off from £1 here... 🤔

Coronation - yes, sorry I wrote 31st Oct 24 as I had been writing about the interim divi amount for end 2023... I had meant to amend the date to 7th Nov 25 but I only amended the year!y mistake!

The 7 Nov also has a BoE interest rate decision announcement too so could prove a bumper day!

I have double checked and from what I can tell its the case BT announces the full year results along with the past Interim dividend amount and the final dividend amount added together (I.e. 2.31p interim divi paid on 2nd Feb 24 + 5.69p final divi paid on 11th Sep 24 = 8p)...

So it is the case the next interim is yet to be declared on 31st Oct 24 and then added to next years final for the next total divi (which I expect to be a little higher than the 8p paid out this 2024 calendar year).
